Thomas Everette Cooke was a native of Bolton, Virginia. At an early age he learned the essential keys to success which are hard work and dedication. At the age of nine he was employed by the late Robert Washington Baker of R.W. Baker Funeral Home, where he was responsible for the care and maintenance of the horses and funeral coaches.
By the time he was an adolescent, he was promoted to driving the hearse. As Mr. Cooke continued to grow, so did his responsibilities with R.W. Baker Funeral Home. He was given the responsibility of arranging and planning the funeral services for the black cliental. It was during this time he unknowingly began to build a cliental, name and business reputation for himself that he would carry with him in his future endeavors.

T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home provides the best service hands down. They took such good care of my family during our time of grief for our deceased mother. Their services provided from start to finish and beyond was professional and the way they took care of our mom was amazing! I love the staff….they feel like family!!!

I went to a funeral to show support for a friend. The cooke family was rude to the grieving family .. they lacked empty in their tone and the manner in which they spoke to grieving.. im writing this review because I was horrified in the way the family was treated ( and I'm not even a family member). Buy hopefully someone in the family will speak up about about their experience.

T E Cooke-Overton Funeral Home... Amazing!!!. My family lost our sister ( Sarita Blount -Towns ) on November 28, 2015... From the first call they were very comforting , and professional. Our family has always went with the safe name in the funeral business , however we decided to try TE cooker -Overton Funeral home and let me say we were very, very impressed . TE Cooke has revamped the traditional funeral service to a more modern, yet upscale services with all the perks and addition that are usually extras they make them standard with the service they provide.
