Why does Ultimate Bicycle exist? An odd question to be sure, but a rather important one. There are over a dozen bike shops in the Charlotte area, and hundreds of websites selling cycling products. Ultimate Bicycle, as a company, has existed in various forms in the Charlotte area since 1993, under several owners.

Brought a couple bikes in for a diagnostic, thinking they needed a good amount of work. The guys took a look, and were very straight up with me. All they needed was minor tuning and a quick lube job, and I was good to go. I was incredibly impressed with their professionalism, integrity, and the quality of work. They just made a life long customer.

My friend gave me her bike. I brought it to Ultimate Bike to fix the gears and purchase accesory items. Chris and Matt helped me. They were professional and pleasant. In addition, the shop was clean and well-organized. Although this was my first visit to the shop, I felt as though I were a long time customer. After such grear service that may prove to be the case.

Bought SantaCruz here for 5 grands. after five months i had to fix one part, it was warranty case. I have waited for 5 weeks this part from factory. But this is not problem. I asked them to adjust seatpost. Finally I got back my bike and found out that there was a leak in seatpost system. I asked them to close this fail. They offered to pay $60 and wait another 2 weeks. Logically I refused and choose my local repair store in Davidson. They are nice when you are planning to buy. Service is slow.

I purchased a new bike (in the box) from Craigslist and it turned out that a spoke was loose and I was missing a bolt. I went to Ultimate Bicycle 2 times to have these things fixed and it was a fantastic experience both times. On my last visit, Carl took extra time to show me how to put on my front wheel and made some adjustments that I wouldn't have known to do or how to do them. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It speaks volumes when a shop is willing to help you out even though you didn't purchase anything from their store. I will definitely be back for accessories and anytime I need my bike

These guys are the absolute best. I recommend them to anyone that says they are looking into buying a bike. I stumbled on them when COVID hit and I couldn’t find a bike anywhere. Ended up that had some in stock so I got my first Trek bike from them. Their customer service is just off the charts and they are fast and thorough. They don’t try to get you to spend money you don’t need to. I will forever buy my bikes from them, I am a customer for life. Love them!

I visited 3 stores over the last few days and the Ultimate Bicycle staff were the most helpful. They discussed my plans for using the bike, where I wanted to ride, and my price range. In the end, I found two bikes I liked. I came back today to test ride them again. They suggested I ride the bikes up a hill because the handle differently. I’m happy I listened to them because the one I was leaning toward did not do well up the hill. They showed me the “extras” I wanted including a cute bell. Checkout was simple and they loaded it in my car and bottle holder. I would highly recommend a visit

The staff is knowledgeable, courteous, and patient. The store can accommodate a good number of bicycles and is clean. Unfortunately there is one thing that overshadows all the good qualities. Understand the RETURN POLICY and decide if it matters to you. Most stores that carry Trek have a return period, you can’t beat it up, of course. In my case I… purchased a Marlin 4 for my son. Brought it home and he tried it out on the carport. He wanted to use money he saved up to upgrade to a Marlin 5 or 6. I called the store to explain the scenario, and long story short...no exchanges (even

I haven't even bought my future bike yet but these guys are awesome. Taking the time to inform me of bike options & specs over the phone. I really appreciated that attention since my gyms have closed & I desperately need to get my heart pumping. When I buy a bike, I'm definitely going to Ultimate Bicycle! Fantastic bike shop. The staff is beyond helpful. I trust them to steer me in the direction purchasing a bike that is best for me and not just their bottom line. During my first two visits since moving to town they treated me like I had been a customer for years. I purchased a used 2004 Cannondale mountain bike on Craigslist and brought it to the shop. They easily could have done repairs and sold me tires and a new set of forks, all of which I thought I needed, but instead made a few tweaks that made the tune up/repairs unnecessary without even charging me. They even replaced a damaged rear derailleur

A couple of weeks ago, I bought my sons new mountain bikes. One of the bikes had issues upon the first ride. Today, Toji expertly assessed and made the necessary adjustments, apologizing for the inconvenience. I am not one who needs for things to be perfect, but I do expect to be treated kindly and feel welcome....We have great bikes, were treated well, and will be back.

This place exceeded all expectations. I searched around for over a month at various bike shops in Charlotte while deciding what brand/type of bike I wanted. This was the first place I visited and after searching around, the last place I visited. All staff was extremely helpful and honest. No run-around, just facts and straight-up answers. Very thankful for that. It took a while for me to make the purchase of a bike for what they cost, but after searching all Trek dealers in Charlotte, prices at Ultimate Bicycle were the least expensive by over $40, including Trek's main website. My last review was based on the poor customer service and not so good repair job done by the repair shop. I cannot speak on the quality of the bicycles. However the repair person told me I needed new bearings and this is why it was making a squeaking noise I never heard before. He also told me I needed a new shifter which I replaced. He said I would be needing to replace the other shifter. Total cost will be well over $200.00 in addition to the 200 I had just paid. I took the bike to another shop and they just cleaned the bearings (no more noise). They replaced the cable for the shifter

What a great experience. Came with my daughter to get sized and then returned later to buy the bike as a gift. Someone took the training wheels off and tightened all the important components. Would definitely recommend this shop to anyone (novice or expert). The only thing I noticed was that the white handle was dirty and greasy from the techs working on the bike. For a $200.00 bike I would have preferred the bike to be 100% clean but understood why it got dirty just something to note.

I walked in to find some new grips for my mtn bike. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who showed me where they were. He explained a little about the differences in their selection, and made some pleasant small talk about MN/WI since I just moved down in April.
He had another customer ask him about some bike options and excused himself to help him.
While I was admiring some of the full suspension bikes another staff member asked if I needed any help. I found some sale items and one of them was a sweet set of grips. He said it's all 50% off. I was more than happy to get a $30 set of locking

When my 9 year-old needed a new bike, I didn't hesitate to bring him here after having bikes serviced here in the past. We walked in, and within 5 minutes, a great sales person pulled out a bike and had my son up and test driving it in the parking lot. We bought his bike as well as a helmet and riding gloves, which we got 10% off with the purchase of our bike. We were ecstatic with the service and the bike. We will be purchasing all of our future bikes at Ultimate!

Cool place with a good selection of mountain/road bikes. Also good for maintenance and tune ups it looks like - the staff knows there stuff.
I'm still "dipping" my feet in the water as far as cycling goes, but I've gotten some socks from here and will stick with my cycle classes for now before plunging head first and buying a bike.
I think any specialty bike store tends to be expensive, but you do get a quality bike and some sound advice if you are just starting out.
