Imagine that you and your siblings inherit your grandmother’s home. Before you take possession, a court-appointed administrator allows the basement to flood, and now there is mold growing in the basement and sub basement. My brother, sister, and I were attempting to sell a jointly owned a home, and my realtor contacted c&j basement solutions for an estimate on mold remediation. My sister and I live out of state, so my brother signed a contract on 11-14-20 and paid a deposit of $7157 (1/3 of total) to treat and repair damage to the basement areas. c&j basement solutions waited more than two months to begin work, and scheduled an inspection on 2/3/21 (after the work was completed) to do an inspection and collect the remaining balance.

Our relationship with C&J did not start out on a positive note; they completed work (for sellers) as part of a real estate transaction. We were left with a wet basement and questioned whether we could trust this contractor.

I am so impressed with C&J. We received received three different quotes from basement companies and C&J was by far the most professional & knowledgeable. Over the course of three days, Nick & Nick came out to water proof our basement. They were on time every morning & checked in with me / gave me updates each day before they left. Two years ago they wrote a bad estimate, and requested $5400 for basement repairs that were not needed. We hired basement experts for a second opinion as a potential buyer initially hired them. The company did not even inspect the basement which was advised to us by our realtor they just looked at appraiser inspection report. There is a difference between bowing walls and moisture. Upon our second opinion estimate it was determined that basement walls did not need braces, wall was not bowing, and remedy was advised to reduce moisture. As a Realtor® I am always needing estimates for basement repair of all types (bowing walls, water intrustion etc) C&J is my go-to for all. Our sump pump quit working on Thursday evening and water started backing up into our basement. I did have a backup one that had a defective battery so I was able to use that temporarily to stop the flooding and get the water under control. But it was quite clear something needed to be done. We had been quoted a month earlier $804 and $1,199 from two other basement plumbers that specialized in Sump Pump. Vacation was coming up though and we didn't have that sort of money.
