According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), stigma is when someone, or even you yourself, views a person in a negative way just because they have a mental health condition or substance use issue. Some people describe stigma as a feeling of shame or judgement from someone else. Stigma can even come from an internal place, confusing feeling bad with being bad.

Horrible experience! They set me up with a counselor who could not navigate the intake system so it took her 2 visits to get my information into the system. Then in the second visit when she was finally done with that and there was 10 minutes left of my session she flips her chair around with her notebook in hand and literally just stares at me. Saying nothing so I began to talk and she was staring out me with eyes bulging and acting impatient still not responding I said a little more then I told her I was done. So now they have the audacity to bill me for 2 sessions!!!
