Founder and Chef Tasso was born and raised in Crete, Greece and grew up in a family of bakers. His father had a bakery in a small village in the Island of Crete called Fournes ( Fournos means oven in Greek). As it is mandatory to serve in the Greek Army, Tasso was assigned to cook in the Greek Army.

As a guest of Tasso's Restaurant & Bar, we offer you a cuisine cultivated from our Greek heritage and Tasso's vast culinary experiences since 1974. From the rise-and-shine breakfast classics with a Mediterranean twist to the delicious, authentic and contemporary dishes, and to the power lunches, family outings, date nights and formal dinners, we've got something to suit everyone's particular tastes.

I was very excited to try Tasso’s but I was disappointed with the service I received at Tasso's. I dined on a Saturday night and came in a few minutes before 6 pm. My party of 3 was seated towards the end of the restaurant by the bathrooms. Mary was our server and took a while to take our order. We had to wave her down to first get her attention.
Our party ordered drinks, crispy chicken to share and entrees. We let her know we would be splitting one of the meals and she didn’t mention additional fees. We didn’t see her for another half hour. We asked a few other people including another

Excellent all around! Food was fantastic, incredibly fresh. Service was excellent, truly an experience. Dining room and bar are modern, warm and inviting without the clutter often found in smaller restaurants. This is a neighborhood gem, and worth the drive if you live further away.

This was easily the worst service I have ever received. I arrived with my party, sat down and ordered, and then proceeded to wait an hour to get our food.
After we ordered, about 20 minutes passed and the waiter returns to our table. She smiles and asks 'Have I taken your order yet'? We felt quite confused as she certainly had. We said yes, she looked through her book, found our order and said 'oh I know!'. I asked if our food was still coming, she looked into my eyes and lied to me by saying it was. She had clearly forgotten to place our order.
Another 20 minutes passed, and still no food. I

I love the environment this place provided, my girlfriend and I visited this place and what I can say is that this place has the best lamb period. I am shocked how buttery soft it is. We tried about 3 different dishes and this place deserve to be in Santana row because this is so worth the value and IT TASTE AMAZING! The owners were so nice, and for me I almost couldn't even finish my food because I already got full but wanted to finish it all. Recommend coming here for drinks or even get a small snack or even have dinner here. They been here 4 years ago and I can't believe I didn't try it sooner

Wonderful Greek food! I'm so happy we found them again! I say "again" because we first discovered Tasso's in Gilroy. Then one day they were ...just gone. I was so sad but now I'm SOOOOO happy! I had veal piccata which was prepared perfectly. Fork tender and just the right amount of lemon in the sauce. My husband had ravioli with meat sauce. Again, prepared perfectly. Next time I'm going to try the cioppino. That's what my Grand-daughter had, she loved it. I could go on and on but the best thing I can think of to sum it up is for you to go to Tasso's, try the food and make up your own mind.

Everyone loves Fortino Almond Champagne. When you folks get a chance come check out this restaurant! The food is a twist of Greek and Italian cuisine with a beautiful setting. You will find Fortino winery on their wine list. 🍇🍾🍷🍽

Great food. Clean interior. Abbreviated menu due to the Covid19 pandemic. Can't wait until the full menu returns.

The food here is great! Their pita is definitely the softest pita I have had. And the service is amazing too. For every entree you get a side of soup or salad which is nice and you also get complimentary bread. It’s a great place for non-vegetarians but for vegetarians you are pretty much stuck with pastas. They have different types of pasta so it’s not just one option. I got the Greek-style pasta and it was delicious. They do go a little overboard with olive oil on all their dishes but I personally don’t mind it, some others might find it too overwhelming. If I were a non-vegetarian and

Very modern Greek decorated establishment in blue and white.
With a very warm hostess/waitress/owner.
She was delightful, and so was the food.
This was my fourth trip to this restaurant, something just keeps calling me back. This time I tried one of the lunch specials, the Gyros plate. An abundance of fries and pita bread with salad and meat. Traditional Greek standards that were deliciously made. As before my favorite was the salad.
Fresh fresh ingredients with crunchy bell peppers and onions. Plump tomatoes and olives...and I got 6 olives (no skimping there). Plenty of feta and just the right

When it's good, it's sooooo good! But when it's bad, it's baaaaaad. And there's not really an in-between. You either get a delicious meal, or a dry-rubbery one. Service from the owners is minimal: they will pay you very little attention unless you are an old friend of theirs, and whatever attention you do get feels rushed and insincere. The rest of the employees seen rushed or harried, no matter how busy or empty it is. One minor thing I don't judge on but think is funny is that the lamp shades are all still in their plastic packaging.
