Three of us had the best time at District Winery, trying flights, charcuterie, and small plates. We had an excellent sommelier who didn't steer us wrong (and actually curated one of the wine flights!)
Food- the charcuterie board, though a bit expensive, was delicious and came with a nice selection of meat, cheese, fresh made bread, pickles and toffee. We also loved the sausage sliders and the sweet potato dip. I'd order all in a heartbeat. So good.
Wine- the holiday treat and the wine solstice flights were awesome. We also made a bunch of our own flights. There wasn't one wine

I had a business meeting here with a friend and I honestly loved the vibe. The aesthetic was very elegant.
If you're looking for a place in DC, to take a date that loves wine, this is the place for you. Trust me, I love winery's in all, but during the winter months, being indoors in an elegant space is always a great substitute.
I tried the wine flight with all dry wines because, "I had a LONG day!" But, the wines were exquisitely crafted and I must say, I took a bottle of the 2015 Pinot Noir home and I was not disappointed. 10/10

Wine was great....I missed the brunch, so the other dishes weren't that great to me. We ordered a charcuterie board and did a flight. The scenery sets this place off completely; just beautiful.
The only thing I hate is that parking on the street is limited (obviously, its DC...duh) but they d have parking garages.
I think its a great place to have a date night.

The aesthetic of the place is beautiful and has a great view of the water. But I will say this is a typical winery so don't get your hopes up about ordering a mixed drink. They don't have any food besides the type of food you'd see at a winery and they only have 7 cocktail drinks other than their wine list and cannot serve any other type of drink with alcohol beyond what's on their cocktail list. So if you're looking for a nice evening to wind down and chill but you're not hungry, then this is the place for you.

My experience here was, for lack of a better word, fine. I was seated and waited over 20 minutes before anyone came to the table to greet and get us water or take our drink order. When we first ordered, the waiter asked how we wanted to split the bill for our table of four. We appreciated that he was able to split it up front and we didn't even have to ask. However, at the end of the night when we got the bill it was all together and be said there was no way to split it. Not a big deal but mildly annoying. We also didn't have our server come by for long periods of time, which was made

It was delightful. This is something truly unique. The food was lite which was perfect I had dinner reservations. We had the Virgina Merlot recommended by the wine manager Joseph, who was very lovely to listen to his descriptions of the wines. Our server was great and attentive. We tried the Harvest Dip and Brussel Sprouts. The manager offered us a taste of the Riesling which was so nice that we ordered a glass of that as well..A great DC location. A must go to spot with amazing views.

**John Stires reached out to me after my review and helped me address the problem and come to a solution. While I won't change my initial reaction post, I've added a star (from 2 to 3) as customer service is important and he did make it right. Thanks John**
Original: Honestly disappointed in the staff & wine selection here. Our waiter was not very attentive, did not fill our waters and forgot our drinks on multiple occasions. In addition, their wine fridge door was stuck and we couldn't try half of the wines we wanted to due to this issue.
The view and outdoor area is beautiful

The menu did not really appeal to my taste buds that day since I was hungry and wanted a hearty meal. But I enjoyed the happy hour glasses of wine which were $7 each. Our server, Steve, was wonderful and we had an amazing view of the water. They had some interesting wine flights + small plates for two deals on the happy hour menu that I would like to try. We just couldn’t decide on 3 different small plates since only 1 of them appealed to us. Maybe on another trip I’ll get a chance to experience their flights.

Visited during happy hour and it was great! The bartender was lovely and very accommodating when it came to wine choices.
As far as the food goes, the grilled cheese was cooked well, with a crispy crust but there was a tomato jam that I could have done without. It added too much sweetness to the sandwich in my opinion. The salad had so much potential but unfortunately the pear and vinaigrette also had a little too much sweetness for my liking.
I will definitely be back, to try a few more food items and of course more wine!

Sigh... I really don't like writing this review because PreCovid the food was bomb. Amazing selections and great wine pairings, all PreCovid
This is a PostCovid Review.... They should have 3 stars but the staff was amazing!!!! One waitress even sat at our table per my request to explain why their menu is soooo condensed.
Anywhooo it was my girlfriend 43rd birthday and we wanted to dine here just like we did for her 40th yep repeat offenders. But the menu selection would've given me bubble guts... either soy chicken, fries or cheese so yes all pair great with a wine but we were hungry

Our waitress Alexandra (Alex) today was amazing! She was super kind/funny and attentive. we ordered 2 Rosé, but after we ordered it we figured a bottle would be better. She left one full glas for me to taste and just brought the bottle. No extra charges! Those are the little things a guest will remember. The food here is also amazing and so was our wine. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a sunny afternoon at District Winery

We stopped into the bar around 2 ish this past Sunday. We didn't have reservations and were told they allowed non- reservation at the bar! We had a lovely female bartender take care of us, whoever you are, you were a gem & helped make our experience memorable that we will def come back for bites in the near future. We had 2 flights & an aperol spritz - everything was great! All the wines they produce were beautiful - Quality, taste etc. they really have done a great job!

Continues to be a solid option- the hostess was a gem and seated us outside due to some immunocompromised issues Im having... then even though we were 2, they gave us a four top since it was shaded - And I was so appreciative... we had the ricotta & grapes, the house made chicken chorizo on English muffin, and the roasted cauliflower and fennel... drinks were delish - from wine to mimosa to their sig mezcal cocktail !! If you haven't been- GO ! it's a gem on the water with tasty bites - delicious wine- & a stunning view !

My friends and I had a really good time here. From the fun and attentive customer service to the food, it was truly a weekday evening well spent. Now of course parking is trash - especially when you want to watch your coin but if you luck up and find street parking (like I did) the pricing isn't bad. I informed the host that I was running behind on my reservation due to parking and there was no issue.
We had outdoor seating with a view of the water, boats and bridge in the distance. There were people outside enjoying the weather and plenty of kids playing. It was nice to cheer on some graduates

First off, District Winery is a showcase of modern 2010s design - steel/glass plate windows from floor to ceiling/clean design/quirky modern art on the walls. I mean this as a compliment - it is light and airy as a result with a self assured air.
The service was fantastic - from the front staff to our waiter Xavier.
We ordered the flights and bites: the fried Brussels sprouts, the curried cauliflower, and the grilled cheese. As you can see, the food is very well presented. It is essentially basics elevated by presentation. A buttered grilled cheese with tomato, cheese, basil (essentially a pizza

Had reservations for this afternoon. When we arrived we were seated right away indoors with a nice view of the outside.
We had the fries, soy glazed chicken and pork sliders. All were filling and delicious.
We had both wine flights and they were nicely presented, perfect servings and fresh.
Family friendly and quite artistic.

Came here awhile back and didn't have a great impression of this place, and re-confirmed this last Friday with my friend so wanted to put some thoughts down. While the wine itself is fine, the service could use a grand makeover, and the food is not spectacular.
Service
We came an hour early on a Friday night (our reservations were for 9pm) and tried to see if we could get in early. No such luck. That's fine- we went for a walk and came back. Our service during dinner could be described as fleeting. The whole experience felt rushed, especially towards the end, since they close at 10pm

District Winery Ratings: 4.2/5
Food: 4/5 - We ordered mimosa for the table, and I got the beet cured salmon on their brunch menu. It is essentially a sweet potato arepa topped with smoked diced salmon, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The food was good, flavorful and definitely interesting, never had an arepa before. The texture was weird, it's like eating a very dense and moist pancake. I had to give it a 4 star, because I thought the portion size was a bit small for the price. The brunch menu was limited too. Their Brussels sprouts was really good though, so that's a must try,

Came for a wine tour and tasting and had an amazing time! The tour was small, twelve people. We were in the back room where they make the wine and all of the tables were well socially disanced. We tried 10 or so wines, a mix of red and wine, with one rose and one sparkling. Our tour guide was super fun and knowledgeable and lead a great tour.
For the number of wines we tasted and the amount of information we received, the tour was a great value, about $40 a person for 90 minutes.
We stayed for dinner after and were extremely happy. The grilled cheese is a MUST. We also loved the chicken soy

Covid precautions were very serious and I felt very safe. Got 4 bottles with some friends and some shareables...highlights include the burrata and the grilled cheese and the sausage dip (omg) !!!
But above all our service was impeccable...our server Allie was such a joy and welcomed us like no other place I've been too. I can't wait to bring back more people and ask for Allie!!

Cute place to come for wine. Atmosphere is very modern chic with an amazing view of the Potomac.
Pro Tip: Try the wine tasting flight
During my visit, I tried the wine tasting flight. Came with 2 reds and a white and was arranged in order:
*Chardonnay (2017; Suisun Valley, CA)
*Pinot Noir (2016; Colombia George, WA)
*Zinfandel (2017; Lodi, CA)
If you are unable to try the tasting due to state/city restrictions, try the At-home Tasting Kit or buy the bottles to go. My favorite was the Chardonnay. It tasted light and refreshing and was also barrel fermented.
