Easily my favorite dinner during our trip to Savannah! If you are vegetarian or vegan, and you are tired of only being able to eat ravioli or a salad in restaurants, you must come here! Seriously. I ordered the vegetarian special of the day and it was absolutely delicious! We found this gem online as we were driving into Savannah!

Looking for places for dinner on my families Christmas trip, and most lists included Alligator Soul. So, I made the call and got a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner.
The place is in the basement and has a good ambiance. It's decorated quite nicely and the wait staff is very friendly.
The menu has a "Cajun" flare, specializing in seafood. They also have a fish special and an exotic special every day. We started with the charcuterie board which included bone marrow, alligator, cheeses and bread. The alligator was very good, the cheeses were also quite good.

Truly a "must-do" for me every time I visit Savannah. The service is top-notch. On our last visit, our waitress, Christin, was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we were happy at each moment during our visit. And on every visit, I get the Little Hilbo and every time it is 10/10. I always swear the next visit I am going to try something different.... I never do. The Hilbo is too perfect. Unique dining room below street level. Great bar if you are dining solo. Reservations a must, this place is busy 7 nights a week. ENJOY!!!

Had an incredible meal here. Our server Kenon was terrific; very knowledgeable and attentive. The gumbo was excellent as a starter. My wife loved the shrimp and grits, and my steak was phenomenal. The banana beignet dessert was one of the best things we had on our entire visit to Savannah. Highly recommend this spot!

Alligator Soul is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the opportunity to enjoy a meal at. It came highly recommended, and it didn't not disappoint at all. The ambiance and decor create a distinct yet intimate setting for any dinner. I would suggest calling ahead for reservations, especially on the weekends.
Best part of the experience was obviously the food. My fiancƩ and I split an order of the Oysters a La Soul, a house specialty and a must have. My fiancƩ ordered the Little Hilbo, and I went with the exotic specialty of the day which was a seared antelope filet. After dinner

This is definitely one of our new favorite Savannah restaurants! Delicious doesn't even begin to describe the food, it was decadent and perfectly prepared. The cocktails were also fantastic. To say the service was phenomenal, is to say the very least. Our server Bethany was delightful, helpful, and made our mea all the better! While we finished up dinner I made another reservation for when we had family coming to visit.

Delicious food in a pleasant setting. The steps descending below street level lead you to the entrance of Alligator Soul. While we patronized this restaurant, jazzy renditions of familiar tunes were rendered over the speakers. The restaurant occupies a stone basement and featured a buzzy atmosphere even on the Monday night that we visited. I tried their sazerac, antelope special, and alligator tempura. Everything I tried was excellent. My sazerac was one of the best that I have sampled in a restaurant with a precise blend of bitters, absinthe, and whiskey with the trademark orange twist. The antelope

Alligator Soul is literally what I think of when I think of fine dining. Just perfection top - down.
Now, I went to Alligator Soul in June for my wedding anniversary. I stayed at an Inn a mile away that gave out unlimited wine and port. I do not remember nor can I tell you what I had that night because I don't remember. We had to give Alligator Soul a proper review.
We started with their house Pinot for $39. A little on the pricey side for me personally, but you know...when in Rome. Alligator Soul is fancy so do it right. It was excellent and it was a bottle with their own brandings. While

Had an amazing birthday dinner here! I told them ahead of time it was my birthday and they gave me a box of mini pecan pies. Then I had an amazing tequila cocktail! The shrimp and grits were tastey, and I would highly recommed trying!
The ambiance was nice, it was low lit which made it romantic (disregard I was by myself lol) but the staff and their personalities made me light! My waiter was very knowledgable and had clearly tried a bunch of the menu, he gave honest reccs!
Definitely go for special occasions!

Pretty expensive restaurant but it makes sense because oh my God the food is amazing! It really is top tier food. The staff was very nice and helpful. If the waiter/waitress doesn't tell you the specials you need to ask for them. Best decision I've ever made. I got the fish of the day which was swordfish and it was incredible. Well seasoned and great taste. My boyfriend got the exotic dish which was antelope and it was cooked so well. We also got shrimp and grits and the alligator tempura as appetizers and they did not disappoint. The shrimp and grits were very unique with the red sauce in the

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. We started off with a whiskey sour, and an 'anything goes' cocktail with alligator chorizo Mac and cheese. I have to say this was the best Mac and cheese I've ever tasted and a must try. The bread was to die for and paired so well with the butter. I was a little adventurous that night and ordered the ostrich steak which was cooked medium and paired well with a pumpkin puree and a pumpkin muffin over rice. Odd pairing but very creative and it worked very well together. I can't imagine ostrich being cooked any better than at Alligator Soul, but the ostrich flavor

Holy Truck, this place was great. Exceeded my expectations and delivered a 1 of meal. New Orleans meets Savannah, and the relationship worked great. This place is not cheap, we spent $300 on 2 people but the dinner was phenomenal. I had shrimp and grits with a red pepper jam, she had Gazelle(i think). We also enjoyed the Oysters a la soul, and the gator tempura, as well as the gator chirizo mac. Overall, it was amazing, Sam the bartender took great care of us. Pro tip, you def need reservations but bar seating is available 1st come 1st served. Also had the Banana Bengeits for desert, didn't disappoint

I went here for my birthday. One of the hostesses gave me a small little dessert once I arrived to the restaurant, being that when the reservation was made, she was notified that it was for my birthday. So sweet and unexpected! My waiter was Kenon. He was great! Really friendly and personable. The food here is amazing, love the gumbo! Seasoned very well and very savory dish. Service is quick and precise, which is hard to come by due to everything having to go through so many changes for the pandemic. It's refreshing to spend your money in places worth the while. Can't wait to dine here again!

Service was absolutely killer. Gumbo was š„š„š„š„. I also had the beef filet medium rare which was amazing. Not to forget we also had the tempura alligator. Gator is a tough meat but they did a great job with it. I forgot our servers name but he was super rad. Had knuckle tattoos. BRO U DA BOMB!

OH. MY. GOSH.
Go here. Treat yourselves.
We were not dressed for it, but the staff was the nicest, most welcoming people. We sat at the bar and the 2 bartenders were so gracious and inviting, chatting with us as they mixed drinks for the other patrons.
The place is high class, but still with a southern charm. When I asked for salt, they came out with two little pinch bowls of regular salt and smoked salt complete with a mini spoon We tried delicacies like candied alligator and the special oysters. Their menu is full of unique meals.
IT WAS AMAZING.
When back in Savannah, we will definitely make

Second visit to this restaurant. We came for my friend's birthday. I made the reservation over a month ago through Open Table. I love the brick and the decor. It reminds me of Europe. Rumor has it this place is haunted.
We ordered the mushroom salad and a salad with candied alligator. The bread service is delicious. Warm fluffy bread. We also ordered the alligator Mac & cheese. It was very buttery and rich. For the entrees, I got the lamb. I wasn't a fan of the purƩe on the bottom & the potatoes were undercooked, but the lamb was perfectly done. My husband got the duck and
