Ambience is awesome, beautiful interior. They also have a great brunch. Only issue is the food portions aren't great for how expensive this place can be. We got skirt steak and shrimp fajitas which were both packed with flavor, but dishes were about 75% vegetables and maybe 3 ozs of protein. At the same time, it is Larimer Square after all, so it's kind of expected.

This is a more upscale corner Mexican restaurant. I usually go to average Mexican restaurants so this was newer to me. It doesn't mean the restaurant decor or dress code was fancy, but the dishes are of better quality, smaller quantity, and $$$.
I wanted a beef burrito or beef enchilada but surprisingly that did not exist on the menu.
I opted for the steak plate option. The steak was small, but very tender and flavorful. It tasted amazing with the guacamole and corn sides that it came with. I wasn't a fan of the uncut scallion stalks... I couldn't even cut them with my bread knife

Nice atmosphere. The food was good as well. It felt wrong to pay extra for rice and beans at a Mexican restaurant, this is my only gripe. I wouldn't recommend Tamayo as a casual mexican dining option for this price range. Definitely more suited for a date/business.
Deducted a star for the extra cost for rice and beans.

Not only is this my go too for bottomless Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, or Margaritas. You just never get both, food and drinks unlimited that taste delicious. It's always one or the other you go for. Well not this place, this place I always have given them 100% on both drinks and food. Service is phenomenal as well, super friendly and attentive. Every time I have guest for The Weeknd this is my go to place to take them. Never fails.

The bottomless option is great. They give you a variety of options from Bloody Mary, mimosas to margaritas, and you can switch them up as you go. It was my first time here and our waitress Brooke was amazing. She was very attentive, making sure our drinks were filled as well as our belly’s. I would highly recommend coming here, great service and tasty food.

Amazing food and drinks! I have to admit I was very impressed at this restaurant. At first I sort of hesitated because it seems very "touristy" but I was not disappointed! We went on a Monday morning so it was not busy at all. We were seated immediately. We had the tacos and the Tamayo margaritas with a side of rice and beans. Everything was delicious! The portions did seem a bit small but they definitely were very filling. The tacos come with a side of this amazing habanero salsa that we could not stop eating! I even added it to the beans! Overall amazing food, I'm very excited

This place is okay, but we expected so much more. The place is in a great location, with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is so okay, but didn't come close to amazing us. We ordered the sliced steak dish for the kids and had the green enchiladas. We ordered a couple of margaritas and hoped they tasted better than your regular bar margarita. They didn't. While the restaurant itself is really nice, cool and clean, the staff was slow and not very accommodating or helpful. There were a couple of times where we had to wait for someone to visit our table or to get refills on the water. This place

Completely forgot to take pictures of my food because it was so good that I ate it too fast. I had the steak fajitas, it was enough to make 4 tacos. We had guacamole app it was delicious. We also had the queso app, the cheese is stringy not like the usual queso appetizers but it was tasty and huge! Service was a little slow maybe she was having an off day.

Had a great lunch here. The food was great and the margaritas were excellent. The have a bottomless brunch for $42.00 that i want to try next time. We were in a hurry to see a show so we didnt have time for brunch. The server was very accommodating to our time constraints and our food was served quickly.

Modern Mexican restaurant in Larimer Square serving delicious, elevated Mexican fare. Dishes are beautifully presented, drinks are strong, and flavors are thoughtfully prepared. I came when they were featuring Dia De Los Muertos specials, and tried the special Chile Ancho Confit and Braised Short Rib. Both were great with a little creative twist, although the entree is smaller than expected.
Reservations are highly recommended. I tried to walk-in early on a weekday night but only had the option to sit at the bar, which still worked out nicely.

Tamayo is a roof-top coastal Mexican eatery for the finer-things-in-life community! Flat in the middle of Larimer Square, Tamayo was completely booked out for a private party. Although leaving us with no option to dine inside, we enjoyed the host's honest and cooperative alternatives: Dine outside in the gorgeous patio, but with chances of a thunder storm. We enjoyed the host's punctuality and great communication. Although we didn't get a chance to enjoy their rooftop seating, we loved the moments of lurking their bar and admiring their Mexican-culture murals. The outside patio did

We dined at Tamayo for dinner in honor of their 20th anniversary and had an AMAZING experience!
Tamayo is a chic Mexican hot-spot with a lively dining area and huge rooftop deck. Tamayo opened its doors back in 2001 and was Chef Richard Sandoval's first restaurant in Colorado. Sandoval now has a culinary empire that includes more than 60 restaurants around the world (wowee!). In celebration of Tamayo's 20 years, the restaurant brought back customers' all-time favorite dishes with a throwback menu.
We were seated in Tamayo's main dining room and we were chomping at the bit

This place is so amazing for happy hour.
They have great cocktails, like a strawberry basil margarita, or a pineapple infused margarita, each for $5.
The tacos were $3 for happy hour, and $2 because it was also Tuesday so my friend and I ordered freely and tried everything.
The carnitas taco is crunchy and so so good for just $2. It's small so two bites and you're done. The asada tacos have some pickled onions ontop which add a really nice touch.
We also ordered the bacon guacamole which had small pieces of pork belly ontop, along with Cotija cheese. Super tasty.

Prime people watching, great service, & delicious food. That just about sums up our experience at Tamayo a few weekends ago.
My husband and I came here for date night one Friday. We had to wait about 20 mins to be seated - not a big deal when you have Larimer square as your playground in the interim.
When we were seated, we were able to sit outside with a great view of the square. Service was great, and they even had their 20th anniversary menu - which we ended up ordering off of for nearly everything.
We ordered drinks - Marg & a beer - to start + the crab guacamole - so good! For entrees

We happened to stumble upon this amazing spot while strolling around the Larimer St. We also made it right in time for happy hour and let me tell you everything we ordered was delicious. Their house citrus margarita packed both the flavor and punch!! The kids had their chicken quesadilla meal that came with a choice of soft drink or lemonade and ice cream. We also order chicken tinga tacos and queso fundido which came with four mini tortillas. The service was super fast and Gloria our server was extremely friendly!

Their happy hours are from 3-5pm!
GET THEIR MARGARITAS ($5-6 during HH). So pretty and unassuming, but oh so strong. I was good for the night after drinking around 1.5. Super delicious, I'd recommend getting them blended. Grab an order of chips and salsa while you're at it because their salsa is delicious! Their tacos are a little overpriced though ($3 each during HH).

I can't believe that it has taken us more than 12 years to visit this place. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical of the concept of elevated, contemporary Mexican food, especially with all the fabulous traditional Mexican restaurants and food trucks that greater Denver has to offer. The food did not disappoint. The salmon with mole sauce and mashed cauliflower was delicious as were the mahi mahi tacos. Cocktails were well crafted and the tequila selection unmatched. Service was friendly. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that clearing dishes throughout would have been appreciated

Super cute atmosphere. Really embodies a more subtle and refined influence of Mexico City, which says a lot coming from a Mexico City Native. But the food was awesome! We tried this salmon with molé, at first i couldn't imagine it tasting good but to my surprise the combination was awesome! Super friendly staff and the food was superb. Went for my graduation lunch but definitely going back as much as I can.

This spot is a great upscale mexicanish restaurant! Loved the food preparation out here - specially the shrimp enchiladas and pork belly tacos! We ordered the mango mojito- so refreshing and good!
The only reason I am giving it four stars is because of how unaccommodating our server was - almost like he was in a rush to ask us to leave! First - he dint even look at me while I was ordering as if he was forced to do this job. Secondly, our friend was asking about substitutions and he just said we have other chicken options! PS we all can read the menu!!!!! Just expected better hospitality here
