Raquel is the proud owner of Platinum Affairs in Plainview, New York. Raquel started out in pastry school, following in the footsteps of her grandmother who was a professional chef. She obtained her degree in Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry. The precision and perfection that she learned through baking led to her full event service business.
Platinum Affairs will cater to all events of any kind. Wedding, Sweet 16, Bar & Bat Mitzvah, Communion, Christening, Bridal and Baby Showers just to name a few. What a waste of money. They request a deposit and full payment before the event because they know there work sucks. Worked with Raquel and requested soft white fairy lights. Instead they put up led lights during the event. Guest are asking who the hell are these people. Looked like a construction site at one point. Stay away

During the planning process Raquel was personable, attentive, professional and creative. She offered great ideas and was open to my ideas as well. The favors, the centerpieces, the flower wall, the balloons arrangements, the ring, the whole set up was beautiful and it made my baby shower the sweet magical experience I wanted it to be. I cannot thank Raquel enough for the beautiful decorations she provided for my daughter’s Bridal Shower this weekend. The beautiful flower wall along with the beautiful balloon art and Sweets Table was absolutely gorgeous!! I cannot say enough about it!! I received so many compliments from my guests and how beautiful everything looked. Raquel was absolutely amazing. She literally brought my vision to life. We met Raquel at the Nassau Coliseum Wedding Expo. She seemed nice and my fiancee liked her selection. We scheduled an appointment for 2:00pm this past Saturday. We arrived a few minutes early and Raquel was with another client. She didn't look up from her work or say hello to us. This went on for 15 minutes so went to get coffee and when we came back, there was no change. I was very angry since we booked this appointment months in advance and were on time. This review is as much for the company as it is for Raquel. I cannot say enough about our experience with them. Between our perfect invitations, Signs used for the venue, and the most beautiful mirror seating chart we could have asked for! To start- our invitations were so amazing. My husband and I had such a hard time making decisions for this but Raquel helped above and beyond what anyone could have. She even went to pick up our envelopes herself since they would not be ready when we needed to pick them up since we sent our list in late! On top of that she made sure the mirror was perfect and

Working with Raquel was nothing but a pleasure. I wanted someone to care about my wedding as if it were their own and thats how I felt working with her. I can be a difficult customer (to say the least) because I want everything to be perfect and Raquel worked to make that happen. From designing my custom invitations to making sure my monogram and theme followed through with my isle runner, place cards, table numbers, menus and wedding program. Platinum Affairs is amazing! We loved working with Raquel, she is so sweet and accomodating! She's patient and knowledgeable! My mom got my bridal shower invitations, chair, wine wishing well and favors from her! We got our wedding invitation, mirrored tablet seating chart and money box from her. If I could give negative stars I would. It would take an hour long phone call to explain just how horrible my experience with this business was. To put it in short, go elsewhere. They almost ruined my wedding. They basically forgot about my order and tried to cover it up by blaming me. It took over a month for them to produce a proof which then delayed the entire order and I had to send my $1,500+ invitations out a month before the wedding. After month long fights via email (which I am happy to provide as evidence to anyone who would like to see) they then told me they would no longer do business

I highly recommend Platinum Affairs for your party! They took care of me and my fiance for all of our wedding needs. From invitations to menus, seating cards, custom cocktail napkins, match boxes and a personalized cylinder for our gift envelopes. Raquel completely brought our vision to life by customizing every little detail. I felt as though I was working with a wedding planner without the hefty price of one. I am beyond happy with the way everything came out and cannot wait for everyone to see the final products on our wedding day (11.18.17). Not to mention, when everyone received our invitations

It was an awful experience getting my wedding invitations here.
1) Raquel tricked us into creating a 'custom' invitation. Once it was all worked out & she calculated the price, it was DOUBLE what we originally told her we could pay!
2) Every step of the process took weeks longer than promised. And every time i called to check status, Raquel didn't remember who I was, and she sounded so annoyed that I was even calling.
4) A name was misspelled on the first proof and instead of apologizing, Raquel blamed the invitation company for the mistake and said it had nothing to do with

I would recommend using platinum affairs now that it is under new ownership with Raquel. When I first ordered my invitations for my recent wedding (7/21/17) Nicole was running the store. Nicole was dealing with some family issues and stopped responding to emails and phone calls. I was extremely frustrated and kept calling and calling. At the time there was another employee who called me back and told me my invitations were never ordered. At this point Raquel took over and ordered my invitations on rush and made sure I had them in time. She was very understanding of my frustration and did everything

First off, PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM FOR OCCASIONS! I got engaged in August 2016 and was in the process of planning for my upcoming wedding ( 6/18/17). At the beginning, it seemed like we were on board and Nicole (who was the one running the place) was pretty efficient and would respond to e-mails in a timely manner. Unfortunately during the process of printing my invitations, she was going through a lot of family emergencies and was not easy to contact in the office. I had to continuously follow up to see the status of the wedding invitations, I had to follow up regarding favors. I am a very proactive

I would never go back to this place again. First of all they are not even in Huntington anymore, they moved to Plainview which they failed to tell their customers. I ordered something from them back in March and it stated on the order form to pick up a couple of days before the event I had, after 5:00 p.m. They never said I had to call to make an appointment but I called the Saturday before and there was a voicemail saying they moved, never said where and said to leave a message they would call back in a day. I called during business hours too. The next day they never called me back so i left
