Boulder Karate
Our biggest Karate sale of the year: classes, supplies and goodies are all on big discount. Don't miss this. Call head instructor Brad Randolph today to schedule your FREE INTRO LESSON and let's start your martial arts journey. We believe in quality martial arts training in a disciplined, positive family-friendly environment.

We study Shaolin Kempo Karate, which combines the circular, fluid motion of Chinese Kung Fu and linear, powerful movements of Japanese Karate. It is a highly effective Martial Art for street self defense. You will love it. Martial Arts is fun and valuable for kids. We give them plenty of exercise and movement so they can let out that youthful energy in a positive way.
Services
We believe in a family-friendly atmosphere. We offer solid Family Discounts, encouraging siblings and parents to experience the benefits of the martial arts together! The second family member receives 25% off all our programs, and all family members beyond that receive 50% off! We believe in our 5 Values: Attitude, Integrity, Respect, Self Control, and Heart.
When you first visit Boulder Karate, you will immediately feel the warm, family-friendly energy. All of our instructors have undergone rigorous training and graduated from the Alpine Martial Arts Instructors Academy, so that we may share the magic of the martial arts with you and your family in the most fun and effective ways.
There's no better time than this preschool age to start instilling our 5 Values: Attitude, Integrity, Respect, Self Control, and Heart. Your child will learn that good character is: doing the right thing, even when nobody's looking. Recommended for ages 4-5, this age group works best in focused 30-minute increments.
The Junior Ninjas classes are designed to develop your child's character. This is where we start really digging in to the depth of Martial Arts and applying the lessons to their lives. Your child will learn that good character is: doing the right thing when nobody's looking. Recommended for ages 9-12, this age group works best in focused 60-minute increments.
The Teens group is a blast! Recommended for ages 13-16, we spend a solid 60 minutes each class developing Teens from the inside out. Being a Teen is hard, so we love giving these young men and ladies plenty to take their mind off the stress from school and channel that into hitting the pads and training.

My experience with this dojo has been amazing! As a kid/teen I was heavily involved in martial arts, but I hadn't practiced for nearly a decade before signing up. I initially intended to take a few trial classes at several dojos in the area, but after a 30 minute session with Sensei Joanne I knew I'd found the right dojo for me.
The basic lesson plan includes unlimited access to group classes which emphasizes basic fitness and general skills such as kicks and self defense, and also a weekly private lesson with one of the Senseis any time of the week where you learn all the new material for your

The Sensei's are wonderful with our two kids. We have been thankful especially through covid for Boulder Karate's due diligence and work with the kids. This is helped build our kids confidence and has given them something to depend on during this time.

This is a fantastic dojo! Both my daughter and I have been taking classes (group and private) for almost a year and I am so impressed by the instruction, dedication and positive energy of this great dojo. Master Randolph, the owner and a sensei at the Dojo is a stand out. He is highly motivating to both kids and adults. Our experience has been very positive and we look forward to our continued practice here!

My daughter has been doing karate since age 8 at Boulder Karate. She just earned her Junior black belt this weekend and I am SO proud of her! Master Randolph and the Sensei's have a magical way with all the students. They bring out the best in all and create an environment where the students want to keep learning/growing. Their dedication to the craft of martial arts is authentic and my daughter is so happy to be a part of the Boulder Karate Community.

Boulder Karate is a great dojo expertly managed by Master Randolph who is an excellent teacher and communicator. He assembled an excellent team of well trained senseis. Master Randolph's cheerful and positive demeanor is a great motivator for all, however, he also expects hard work, discipline, and excellence. My son has been going to Boulder Karate for five years.

I joined Boulder Karate one year ago yesterday. It just so happened to coincide with a fund-raising hike (donating to cancer and COVID relief) with students, instructors, and friends up one, two, or for a few of us three 14ers. It was a good day to reflect on what the last year of training at Boulder Karate (Shaolin American Kempo) has given me - there is strong emphasis on fitness (a year ago I couldn't have imagined being this fit); the instruction is top-notch bringing to students decades of experience, consistently positive instructor attitude, and a practical and structured (yet flexible

Martial arts are great for both mental and physical fitness, and Boulder Karate is a superb dojo for martial arts training. Our son tried several sports, but hit gold when he tried Boulder Karate five years ago,:he found a combination of physical rigor, goal-setting, and mental challenge in a supportive environment. Master Randolph's enthusiasm, drive, and intuitive understanding of how to motivate kids (and adults) sets a great tone, and Sensei Jon and Sensei Kaley are both amazing with kids and rigorous artists on their own. Even during the pandemic, Boulder Karate has done a great job: they

Boulder Karate is an amazing community with a positive environment. At Boulder Karate they teach important values such as integrity, self control, respect, heart, and good attitude. The Master in charge is a sixth degree black belt with decades of experience. When being taught under him and the other instructors you will be sure to thrive. They also offer weapons classes where you can learn many different weapon techniques. Over the years of my being there I felt a lot more confident about myself and who I’ll become.

My boys and I LOVE Boulder Karate! It has been an amazing experience getting to learn and grow together as a family through martial arts. I’m a single mom with two boys and I wanted to have a fun family bonding activity, as well as, find a way to instill good values for my boys. We are not only learning an art form but the principles of Respect, Heart, Integity, Attitude, and Self Control. Plus it’s a great way to stay fit and challenge yourself!! If you are considering Boulder karate for yourself or your children I would highly recommend taking the plunge!! You will feel a positive impact

This is the best kid/adult/family activity in town! Sensei Kaley and Sensei Jerry are super awesome teachers. I love the way they teach and have positive attitude toward their students. I also love their sense of humor. My son loves going to the class all the time. My 5.5 year old boy is always very sweet and caring. However, he was very easy to be pushed around by classmates due to lack of self-confidence. About a year ago, we enrolled him to Boulder Karate to see whether he can gain some self-confidence. After a year training, my little boy learnt how to stand his ground when someone tried to

My experience with Boulder Karate has been amazing! The instructors show true passion for what they teach both physically and mentally. The program has given my children a tremendous amount of self confidence along with respect for other people. The combination of those two traits has improved their attitudes and helped them grow in all of the other activities they are involved in! I can't say enough about the program and the school! A big shout out to Brad the owner! Thanks for your dedication and patience!

3 years later, still at the same dojo. That's gotta tell you something.

The team at Boulder Karate isn't here for bravado, they're not here for ego. They're here to make you the best you can be.

Sensei Brad now gets instruction from a 10th degree Grandmaster in Karate, Grandmaster Jim Brassard. (Check youtube if you don't believe me.)

Awesome instruction, awesome classes, awesome private lessons. This is why Boulder Rules.

Update:
Boulder Karate recently won Best of Boulder 2013. They also won it in 2012. If you haven't tried them, you're missing out

My daughter has been attending martial arts classes at Boulder Karate for over two years now and we couldn't be happier. The senseis are totally awesome... very personable, professional and high energy! They clearly love what they do and I am amazed at how they always come up with different ways to keep the kids motivated and the classes fun, while also ensuring that the students get a good workout and develop new skills and techniques. I highly recommend Boulder Karate for children as well as adults. I can't imagine there being a better place!

Boulder Karate is more than just a place to practice martial arts a few times a week: it is a caring and vibrant community of students and instructors who genuinely love their jobs and care about their students. This joy comes through in every class the instructors teach, which they combine with a deep study of the principals they are teaching to bring you a uniquely positive training experience.

Even though the instructors have been training for many years, they make it a point to remember what it feels like to be a brand new student. They will help you to challenge yourself and grow as a martial

I have NEVER liked exercising, but I started at the USSD Boulder dojo in May 2010 and I LOVE it. The Senseis are fantastic, I'm having tons of fun (even when I work my tush off) and now I look forward to working out. My 6-year old daughter is also a student, and my wife recently joined too. They have personalized instruction, a very positive and friendly attitude, and they are GREAT with kids. HIGHLY recommended.
