Katog Vajra Ling is a Connecticut meditation group studying Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of Khentrul Lodr T'hay Rinpoche. We meet regularly to deepen our personal practice and to support one another in developing greater compassion and wisdom for the sake of all beings. No previous meditation experience required and new participants are warmly welcomed.

Our meditation sessions, study groups, live streaming events, and social gatherings take place at at our Dharma Center in Guilford (new address to be announced when we are able to meet) and in Old Saybrook at 341 Boston Post Road. In addition to our regular practice schedule, Khentrul Rinpoche and other teachers come to Connecticut for weekend teachings and for longer retreats.
Services
Khentrul Lodr T'hay Rinpoche, born in eastern Tibet, is the abbot of Mardo Tashi Choling Monastery. Taking monastic ordination at the age of seven, Rinpoche studied and practiced under his main root guru, His Holiness Jigm Puntsok Rinpoche, as well H.H. Penor Rinpoche. He received the degree of khenpo equivalent to a Ph.
When we reflect on the situation of living beings, we see that all beings are searching for happiness and trying to avoid suffering. All of our activities are directed toward that purpose. We focus on the external world, on objects outside ourselves, and hope to find genuine happiness there. But if we depend only on our external circumstances for happiness, we find that they don't last.
That which liberates the knots of attachment and stinginess, extracts the essence from illusory wealth, and becomes a great treasury of benefit for ourselves and others. The practice of pure generosity - may it be perfected. Katog Vajra Ling relies exclusively on individuals' kind donations to fund all aspects of the meditation center's activities.
