Services
Since 1957 we have found pride in our ability to provide services to customers. For service you can trust and rely on for as long as you need water, call Phelps Water company at (410) 956-2522. Phelps Water Company is one of the leading water treatment and well repair companies in the State of Maryland.
Phelps Water Company prides itself in our ability to provide our customers with the best service when it comes to installation and continual upkeep of your water softeners. On average, a water softener should be serviced annually. Our skilled technicians will check your system to ensure that you are getting the best results out of your water softeners.
Constant Pressure Systems are the newest complete system on the market. The Franklin Subdrive and Grundfos Constant Pressure systems are complete systems ensuring constant pressure for most homes. Once the system is installed, the SmartFlo system will constantly adapt the pumps performance to meet the demand for water in your household.
A well pump is the most important part your water system. This is how water gets propelled or pulled into your house for daily usage. Without a pump, a house cannot receive water from your well. There are several different types of pumps that provide different quantities of water. If a pump goes bad, it is vital that you call us to diagnose your problem so that you can be back in service as quick as possible.
The salt tank's main purpose in your water treatment system is to utilize the salt brine to rinse the resin in your water softener. The salt tank is directly connected to your water softener via a small brine tube. This works by sending salt water brine into your softener to rinse and release the iron particles that have attached to the resin beads.

Iron in water. System installed by Phelps during new construction Sept 2017. Had company out each year for annual inspection. Last week the system was not cleaning iron from well. Upon inspection the tech said the pistons and rings needed to be replace. Tech was professional and did a great job (5 stars for Ray), but the company would not honor the 5yr warranty stating parts were not covered. I talked to the manufacturer, and they said the company should have replaced the valve under warranty but even if they didn't the cost should have been half of what was paid. Issue: Not only did they

This is honestly the best customer service of any service provider I've ever worked with. Their prices are fair, they show up when they say they will, they are friendly and informative. I tried to have a UV system installed, and Ed stopped me as it wouldn't have solved my problem. I thought I had a bad pump, and Colin and Tim found a leak under my house, crawled in there, and fixed it. I mean, as a new homeowner, it is scary when something breaks. Phelps has consistently guided us in the right direction, for a fair price. I will be a customer for life.

Will not use this company again. I waited for service all day. I had an arrival window of 10am-2pm. Tech arrived at 3:15pm and refused to complete the job because of the steps. Eric had been here to look at the job prior to scheduling and if stairs were an issue it should have been noted then. Waste of time.

I had very low water pressure and my plumber told me it was probably a well problem. When The guys from Phelps came out they replaced a small piece in the water system and fixed a few other water issues I was having. Very reasonable price. Prompt and cheerful service. Phelps rocks!

Probably the worst customer service that I've ever experienced. Simply called to let them know that their yearly service was not up to par from last year and got no apology, no I'm sorry and no remedy. I was explaining the situation in a calm voice and the person on the phone literally hung up the phone by putting me on hold in the middle of me talking.. Someone else picked up the phone and also refused to own the gap or seek to resolve the issue. Both people I talked to you were unhelpful & unapologetic & didn't even seek to remedy the situation. Seeing that I've been

Our water softener went out. Unfortunately, our usual plumbing company (I just redid a bathroom and refinished the laundry room) said that they don't handle water treatment. Another person referred us to Phelps.

When the first guy came out, he told us some astronomical price for a softener. It was something like $1500 plus $300 for installation. I asked him how their softeners compared to a softener I could get from the store. He said that he didn't know and actually suggested that I just buy one and call them back to install it. So we did even though $300 seemed like a lot to

First and ONLY review I have ever done on a company to give some context as to how disingenuous they are with feigning any concern in correcting this... Used to be a great company... now in awful decline. Service is completely unreliable, and they up-sell you on equipment they have no experience with that leaves you with busted pipes (overpressure) or no water in your home on holidays.
Even routine service for water treatment system leaves leak by and hard water coming out of the system.
Never using them again. Disappointing.
**March 2021 Update:
1. Previous issue was constant pressure system

Beware; Do not have this company bleach your well. They do not perform the bleaching correctly. My well was never measured, the service technician was unsure about what I should do with my water heater. (Wasn’t sure if the chlorination would damage the water heater). Also the water tester came out and took the sample from the wrong area. When confronted about their mistake, I called and I was told oh well there’s nothing we can do about it, but we can come out and re test for 100$. Completely dissatisfied I wasted 275$ for them to do the chlorination incorrect and of course it failed. Never

I highly recommend Phelps Water Company! If you are looking for the BEST water company in the area, then you found it! Everyone we have dealt with at Phelps Water Company is professional, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive. This incredible company responds quickly when there is a water emergency, installs high quality equipment at a fair price, and stands behind their work. What more could anyone ask for?

Within the last year, we have had Phelps Water Company perform work at our house three times, and two of those were due to a no-water situation. With a family of five, no water constitutes

This company provided the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The horrible experience started with the scheduling. When I scheduled my service I was told my tech would arrive between 8-12 so I took time from work during this window with plans to return. At 10:30 when I called to inquire about the ETA of my tech the receptionist just said oh there's no services scheduled for today until 1-4 if this doesn't work for you you'll have to reschedule. Um no thanks. You will just give me the wrong window and waste my whole day again. It goes down hill from there. The first

Woke up to no water. Called (GREAT customer service - love when a human answers the phone after two rings) and they had a technician out this morning who came prepared to fix the problem. Mike was fantastic - could not have asked for a more knowledgeable (or nicer) person. I have already scheduled to have them replace our water softener as well. Great company!

My husband and I just moved into town a few months ago, and neither of us had ever been on a well as adults. After moving in, we sort of just walked around with big question marks over our heads about the entire system, knowing only that we needed to refill the salt for our softener. A few days ago, we noticed some strange noises and a change in our water quality. This morning, I gave Phelps a call and was so quickly and professionally responded to, I couldn't believe it. We had someone at our house this afternoon, and now not only do we know how the whole system works, but it's all functioning

I really like these guys. They do maintenance on our well water system, and they are always reliable, affordable, and considerate. I feel like we can really trust them, and it's always a pleasure doing business with them. It's so hard to find companies that are easy to deal with these days and I am grateful to have them as our go-to for something as important as our home's water system.

I just moved into the area and they got me set up with a new UV light and some salt for my water softener. I tried installing the UV light myself and accidentally broke the quartz container causing water to start leaking so I had to shut it off. I called them up and they had a service member (Mike) at my house within 20 minutes. Mike was very professional and worked quickly to fix the issue (service charge was ~$90, part cost was ~$70). I'll continue to buy my water products from them and if I ever run into an issue I know who to call, thanks for all the help!

Have had them out 3 times now. First to install a water conditioner in feb 2013, then to replace my pump in March 2013, and the last time was today to perform maintenance and repairs on the water conditioner. Their techs have always been quick, professional, and polite. Have never had any problems with the work they've done. I'm a customer for life!
