Electrolysis is the process of permanently removing unwanted hair. In this process, a metal filament called a probe that is as thin as a hair is slid into each unwanted hair follicle. This is done with the utmost care so the probe does not puncture the skin. Upon insertion, a very low electric current is delivered to the follicle through the probe, which causes localized damage to the cell that produces the hair.

My awareness of electrolysis began in 1972 when I developed an ovarian cyst along with unwanted hair. I was prompted by my gynecologist to consult with an electrologist for permanent hair removal. I was very young and mortified that I had this condition. After a few treatments I realized that electrolysis really worked.
My first experience with electrolysis was as a client years ago when my hormones were acting up. I was thrilled with the idea of having my facial/lip hair removed permanently. I had great results. Not being the type to tweeze my eyebrows, I continued treatment to include sculpting my eyebrows. I even ventured to have my bikini line done!

Ellen is amazing. I found her about 7 months ago and I have been seeing her consistently. I have PCOS and struggle with hair on my jawline and neck. Absolutely loving my results with Ellen!! I’ve had electrolysis with 2 other professionals. The first one was not good I just didn’t know any better. I would always leave with my face looking like I was beat up. The second one was good but scheduling conflicts led me to Ellen, and I can’t deny I’m happy with it. My experience with Ellen has been amazing! I am a 20 something year old African American woman struggling with hirsutism and started receiving electrolysis on my entire face. Since I started puberty I’ve had to tweeze my face once sometimes twice a day. After my first session with Ellen, I saw great results. She says results can vary but I was amazed at mine. Honestly. She makes you feel very comfortable, her office is clean, and she educates you about your situation and after care for the days after treatment. I have no regrets!!!
