Rescue Mental Health Service
Rescue Mental Health & Addiction Services was founded in 1966 by members of the Lucas County religious and social services communities to meet the need for a 24-hour hotline for those experiencing an emotional crisis. Father Frank Crawford is regarded as Rescue's founder and served as the first volunteer to staff the hotline.

During 1980 and 1981, the United Way and the Lucas County Mental Health Board identified the need for comprehensive and centralized emergency services for the severely mentally disabled, understanding that this population desperately needed not only emergency services but substantial resources as well.

This was one of my most traumatic, and horrible experiences of my life. I can't urge you enough to seek a different place for assistance. The counselors/therapists/director here were neglectful, disorganized, and chaotic. Please stay away. Mental health is important, believe in yourself, and take things one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time if you need it. I believe in you.

Thee most pathetic excuse for mental health care I have ever witnessed, the lobby, receptionist and intake nurse were rude, nasty, short, unempathetic and had not an ounce of care for the well being of the patient. Per the director via phone call in advance I was allowed to go back with patient. They denied me up front, the anxiety was off the rails, told me to wait for the director to verify, she would come speak to me. She left the building never stopped, but I would not be surprised if she never received the msg to begin with. The nurse for intake belittled the patient with extreme anxiety and

Rescue staff are the most caring people anywhere. Not only do they help you get to a good place mentally, they work to get you connected to ongoing services. They truly care about you and where you are headed.

Do not go here. the facility is disgusting and trashy, and staff is completely inconsiderate. Police forced me to come here and when I did the staff confiscated my belongings and forced me to wait in a dark hallway with no food, water or anything to do for 7 hours before a doctor, who had previously traumatized me, pink-slipped me to another hospital against my will that I specifically stated I did not want to be admitted to (because of a traumatizing incident). Simply avoid this place at all costs.

The staff at rescue is genuinely interested in providing quality care. My daughter went through a very tough time recently and the staff at rescue really helped us to work though it and see eye to eye. Raising a teen is very difficult and they didn’t judge me and only wanted to help us. It was very comforting.

I was instructed by Harbor to come here to get my medications refilled, since I was scheduled out pretty far. Jennifer at the front desk was great, she was very personable and warm. I asked to have a psych evaluation in addition to a med-check. The appointment was moving smoothly, and I was supposed to be seen my a nurse practitioner for the previous reasons. Halfway through getting my vitals done the nurse practitioner comes in. Without introducing herself she tells me "good news, bad news." One of my medications got filled, but the other didn't. There was conversation about my 15 years of on

Been waiting since 10am as a walk in. Its 2pm now! Door dash brought the staff chilpolte and everyone seems to be in a good mood but not a one person that works here is doing anything resembling work! Good thing I'm not suicidal because if I was I'd do it here! Staff probably wouldn't even notice. Just a terrible place to be in an already rough situation and the people that are staffed to help are making it worse by just sitting behind a desk and giggling on the phone. One lady noticed that we seemed upset and gave us a sheet to fill out and put in the suggestion box! Are you F'ing kidding me right

Very layed back nothing to bad but had a little bit of my own curiosity when I came here alot of people were having bad problems with the phycologist because I feel like the best medicine would've been nothing at all but to get away from what they were feeling and I personally stopped all medications and feel so much better. For this place not a good place to have any communication with anyone really the only thing I liked was the groups and snacks

Went here in a time of crisis about 2 yrs ago. Waited for about 2 hours just to be met with by a guy that was there for security just to get info from me becuase they were so extremely busy. He told me then and there that I didn't "look" like I was in crisis and that this place was usually only for the uninsured and most frequented by the homeless just looking for a bed to sleep in for the night. I decided to go home for the night and schedule an actual assessment for the next day. When I got there, instead of the assessment, she told me the same thing about it being for the uninsured and she helped
