Explored Mount Rushmore Crazy Horse Memorial and Custer State Park while staying a few days here with my sister. Cabins have kitchenettes and a beautiful view of the city, enjoyed the proprietor also.

We had a “staycation” at the Shady Rest Motel in May 2021. Five family members visited us from IN, so we rented the Hunting Lodge and all stayed together there. We all were very impressed with the set up of the Lodge, the convenience of being so near town and yet feeling the privacy of a cabin in the woods. We enjoyed the convenience of cooking or ordering meals to eat all together in the dining area. The Dvorak family are all so warm and welcoming and helpful. We all definitely recommend The Shady Rest as a destination vacation!

We stayed here for one night to see Mt. Rushmore on our way to Washington, was awesome cabin, the owners were the best. Cabin was extremely clean and decorated perfectly. Only problem, we had to keep going west and could not stay longer... Maybe next time. The view as great from the porch swing. We all would like to give the Ann and John a big THANK YOU and God Bless.
