Design for Change Recovery provides treatment programs that are proven to help clients safely and effectively overcome addictions. We believe each client deserves an individualized approach to therapy that is best for their unique situation. So, rather than apply the standard cookie-cutter treatment approach, we customize a plan based on each client's unique needs, including emotional, physical, and spiritual components.
The Design for Change Recovery Center is an alcohol and drug rehab located in Lancaster, CA, in the Antelope Valley in Southern California, nestled between the serene, beautiful desert, and the mountains. Our addiction treatment facilities in Lancaster, California, are located close enough to Los Angeles for visits but far enough to feel as though you are away from temptations and in privacy.
Design for Change Recovery is licensed and certified by the State of California for health care treatment (State License #190795AP). The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has sole authority to license facilities providing 24-hour residential non-medical services to eligible adults who are recovering from problems related to alcohol or another drug (AOD) misuse or abuse.
You can trust our dedicated substance abuse counselors at our Lancaster facility to help you free your life from the addiction to drugs and alcohol. All of our addiction counselors in Lancaster have been exposed to the addiction world before working at Design for Change. Also, all of our certified Addiction Treatment Specialists have been through the recovery process.

This place is a Gods Send! They saved my son’s life! The staff is incredibly helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I’ve been to 5 different programs,and this is the one that changed my life. I have to thank Clarissa as my main counselor, Tamisha as my Grandmafiosa, My sponsor Carol, Therapist Jennifer and Joe. All the staff. I intent to continue my AA program for the rest of my life. Everyone has noticed a huge change in me. My neighbor, friends, loved ones all said positive things about me. I want to thank God for guiding me and showing me humility. I never had that before. Maybe Joe will let me volunteer one day. But I think he wants me to have more time

I am so beyond thankful I found this place. I've tried a few rehab locations before this and none of them were as AA program focused as this one is. I want to stay here as long as I can because I feel like I'm growing every day with the counseling the group sessions I'm just being comfortable with those people who are here. I would highly recommend this place to anybody who is struggling with alcoholism or drug abuse. They are focused on taking care of us and helping us to learn where we did wrong. I’m thankful beyond measure for this place. I’ve been given all the support from staff and alumni I could ask for. In my previous attempts at treatment I was missing something. I found it here. The 12 step program here has me looking forward to a life in recovery. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of recovery. I have met new friends who share a story very similar to mine that I will remain friends with for life. I can say whole hearted that this place is saving my life. Words can not express my gratitude and love for this treatment center. All staff, counselors, and therapists were respectful, compassionate, empathetic and listened and provided more than I expected in order for me to recover from the desperate, hopeless, state I was in. I continue to feel a part of the DFC community even after completing the program because the after care is also exceptional.
