It is recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology to perform Skin Self-Exams at least once a month and a full body skin exam with your Dermatologist is recommended yearly. Annual full body skin exams and Self skin exams lead to early detection of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
When examining the skin look for changes to the skin and moles that are suspicious or irregular in shape size or color, or look for mole/moles that stand out or look different then your other moles. The best time to examine your skin is after a shower in a well-lit room. You can record you moles with a body map or take pictures every month to determine if there have been any changes.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is the use of medication (Levulan*) which is activated by a light (Blu-U*) to treat precancerous lesions known as actinic keratosis (AKs). AKs are considered to be the first step in the development of skin cancer. They have the potential to progress into squamous cell carcinoma.
The most common cancer is skin cancer. When skin cancer is detected early it is highly treatable. Warning signs of skin cancer include changes in the shape, size or color of a mole or skin lesion, sores that don't heal, moles or lesions that itch or bleed, or the appearance of a new growth. Skin cancer affects everyone and can occur anywhere on the skin or eyes, mouth or genitalia.
A lipoma is an abnormal growth of fatty tissue under the skin. It typically presents as a soft, mobile mass under the skin that can be painless or sometimes tender. The skin above a lipoma is normal. The most common area for them to grow is the trunk and arms, but lipomas can grow nearly anywhere on the body.
Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer is a very precise, tissue-sparing technique to remove skin cancer. It is most commonly performed on basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma in cosmetically sensitive areas and areas requiring tissue sparing, such as skin cancers of the head and neck, hands/feet, and genitalia.

I so much didn’t like the high price and short conversation of the dermatologist and her assistant there, they almost unfriendly and give you the feeling that they are in hurry to get rid of you. I got an emergency irritation in my skin due summer and i had the visit there but so much unenjoyable experience.

I have wasted 2 days coming to this office. Initial consultation with NP just so she can recommend a peel. I came back on a scheduled day for chemical peel and they told me they don’t have it in office. I cleared my schedule and weekend for this. They are poorly organized and very rude. I am very unhappy and not going back to this place again. Clinic was also empty both times that I went there so they don’t have patients probably due to poor services.

The building and atmosphere are professional. Appointments are extremely rushed and questions are not welcomed, even when a diagnosis is not explained, nor any treatments. I was told there wasn't time to talk about what I needed to even though time with the actual doctor was less than four minutes at the most.
