I have a homeowner's warranty that covered my water heater. However when 2 other companies came, they wanted $800 and $1020 for "uncovered expenses" such as supply lines, straps, pans, sediment filters, expansion tanks etc. This was on top of my homeowner's warranty covering the labor and water heater itself. To me, this cost was not justified as the ancillary parts were more than the water heater itself. I decided to cash out and use my own company.
