West Suburban Animal Hospital has been serving Sylvania and the greater Toledo, OH pet community since 2001. At West Suburban Animal Hospital, we take a personalized approach to your pet's vaccination protocol. While there are some vaccines we recommend for all pets based on guidelines from the American Animal Hospital Association and the Association of Feline Practitioners, others are recommended based on your pet's individual lifestyle.
At West Suburban Animal Hospital, we take pride in our patients' dental care and perform routine and fairly complex dental procedures. Each dental procedure starts out with careful pre-operative testing, attentive anesthesia and a thorough oral exam. New techniques and anesthetic agents have made today's procedures much safer than in the past, but be aware that no surgical or anesthetic procedure is without risk.
At West Suburban Animal Hospital, we have advanced veterinary diagnostic tools as well as a highly skilled team to use them and interpret the diagnostic results. Diagnostic imaging helps us in early detection of disease, which allows for early, more effective treatment. Our diagnostic tools include an in-house laboratory, digital radiology, ultrasound, and endoscopy.

I have been going to West Suburban Animal Hospital for years. They have taken such good care of my pets. Such a friendly place and we get the best service. My golden retriever had ACL surgery today at West Suburban. The entire staff was so welcoming and friendly which puts you at ease knowing your dog is in good hands. Dr. Thompson was very thorough in explaining everything to me in regards to the surgery. He called and I received multiple text messages before and after the surgery. Very happy I took my girl there. Amazing and trustworthy animal hospital! Thank you guys

I took my dog for a surgery consult and was actually told that I should wait and observe. It's reassuring when they could have put her through an unnecessary procedure and taken money out of my pocket, instead helping me to understand how to make her more comfortable. Additionally, my dog went to the bathroom on several people while getting x-rays taken, but no one seemed at all bothered. For such a busy place, they were organized and everyone was professional and seemed to want to be there. The staff at West Suburban Animal Hospital is AMAZING! They are not the animal hospital I usually go to but needed a place who could do ultrasounds. Unlike a couple others I called before them - they welcomed me and treated me as I was there client. The hospital is clean and everyone was very pleasant. I cannot say enough about Olivia - Vet Tech - who spent so much time talking with me about my options, going over my kitty’s care, showing me how to administer an IV to give him fluids at home, etc. She made the whole ordeal as easy as she possibly could. They were so great when we took our 16 year old boy in because we suspected that he had cancer. A few weeks later we were back because we knew it was time to let him go. They were so kind during the whole process, explained everything, and I really respected that the doctor checked him over and was honest with us(even though we already suspected it was time) he didn't give us false hope or try to convince us to try expensive treatment or surgery. This place is absolutely the best! Not only do they treat our two dogs that are patients there with loving kindness as if they were their own, but when our 16 year old was ready to cross the rainbow bridge and his vet had retired and sold the business they helped him and us with such compassion beyond words.
