Life can be challenging at times. Most of us can relate with that. It is not uncommon for people to have challenges managing their emotions, coping with stress, recovering from loss or major transitions, building/maintaining relationships or using substances. I am passionate about helping young and older adults, teens, couples and families learn to cope and thrive in those circumstances.
Whether you are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress or grief, have unhealthy coping habits such as substance abuse or self-harm, or have feelings of helplessness, I want you to know that there is hope. While we cannot change the pain in our past, or the genetics we are born with, we can learn to change the way we respond and react to our feelings and triggers; in order to give them less power and control in our lives.

What is DBT? Dialectical Behavior Therapy, abbreviated DBT, is an evidence-based treatment model proven to be effective in strengthening one's ability to manage distress without losing control or reacting destructively. Developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan (1993), DBT helps you build valuable coping skills in four important areas: Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Mindfulness.
I offer a variety of mental health services in order to best meet the unique needs of each and every client, including individual therapy, group therapy, couples counseling, family counseling, behavior modification, life coaching, coping skills training and clinical case management. Working together, we will determine the treatment program appropriate to help you accomplish your goals and start living a life that brings you fulfillment.
Some people experience problems or negative consequences associated with their alcohol and drug consumption. Often times, these problems indicate symptoms related to chemical dependency or substance abuse. Take a look at the questions below. If you find yourself getting uncomfortable or notice an urge to rationalize or minimize your answers, it may be a good time to talk with a therapist.

Danah is the first person I call when I have an interpersonal conflict that I'm not sure how to handle. She has a natural gift for counseling - she's someone who can listen (really listen) to the situation, ask thoughtful questions, and then come up with guidance that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. If I need someone to just talk it through with, Danah is there to talk it through. If I'm done talking and need practical suggestions and solutions, then Danah is there to offer them. Danah understands the whole picture - both how you see yourself and your life, and how you interact with the people
