Lecture: The Trauma of Cancer: Recovering from the Distress of a Diagnosis, Michael Vogel, LMFT, PhDc. When we are traumatized by a diagnosis such as cancer, we often feel lost and alone. We feel a rush of adrenaline, our heart started pounding, and we are flooded with emotions. Suddenly we are without a tribe lurking amongst the dark thicket of the unknown.
The therapists at Janus Counseling Center are dedicated to helping those in need. Please submit your information and allow a couple business days for a response. If you need an immediate response, and are not in an emergency situation, please call the office at (805) 845-9649 or (805) 680-6292, or you can email us at info@JanusCounseling.com.

Dr. Vogel is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to issues of PTSD, general life ups and downs, options on navigating and really putting a lot of things into a healthy perspective that left to my own thoughts would cause more unproductive upset. I have great respect for Dr. Vogel and his extensive knowledge of the human brain, how it works and methods to make it work better. I'm on a journey to feeling strong and speaking my mind and heart to others, he has given me tools to do so while still being myself.

I've spent an uncomfortably large majority of my life in extreme anxiety and fear and few therapists or psychiatrist have been very affective in terms of my mental healing process. Micheal has allowed me the ability to see my life for what it can and should be. As a person
