Quality diner food. A bit on the pricey side on account of the high end neighborhood. Nice staff. Very good about safety protocols.

My favorite comfort food place. I've only ever ordered delivery from here so I can't keep to the actual diner. The burgers are amazing and so cheap!

It's past 10 pm since we came here. My friends planned that we eat at this place. Since it's open 24 hours. They have tables outside so we sit there. There are people in there but luckily they have a vacant table. Me and Kevin ordered our food while the others were waiting for us. We ordered Slinger, Chicken Wings, Bacon Cheeseburger, Churros, Pork Taco Sandwich and Steak Skillet.
Slinger with hash browns, 2 hamburger patties, cheese , grilled onion, eggs over easily covered with our homemade chili. Chicken Wings that has 8 pcs chicken wings , served with a side of ranch or blue cheese. Bacon

Sat for 15 minutes and was never acknowledged by staff to place order. Non people of color were acknowledged and ordered before I could even place an order. I can understand if it's busy but the fact that the customer service was that poor and I was excited to go as I just moved from out of town and hear the food was good. Guess I'll never know.

I came here to eat breakfast. I was alone and no friends or co worker to eat with. Its my first time here. They have a table and chairs inside and outside to dine in. Some customer said its better to eat outside to enjoy the fresh air. The table inside is a bar stool high chair. You have a view to the kitchen and you can watch the chief while cooking your order. You will smell a good fragrance coming from the food they cook.

I only order here was Strip Steak and eggs breakfast. The steak was delicious and the way it cook was perfect. And their rice was fried rice that good for breakfast. I have

My friend, PJ and I came here after the bar, as it was the only place available, and we were NOT disappointed. The cook, Martino, kept up with every order, moving rapidly, from customer to customer, to online order, never missing a beat, and getting our orders altogether correct. The food was better than one would normally expect from a late night greasy spoon. In our opinions, the Diner Grill, is a worthy successor to our old after-hours haunt; Jeri's Grill (permanently closed). If you're leaving your favorite watering hole, after last call, give Martino and the Diner Grill a shot, you won't regret

I have been to this location several times. The last two times the waitresses never acknowledged me. The wouldn't take my order or offer water. The wait staff has a bad attitude. If your a wait person, do your job.
Many times I have seen the staff handle cash and prepare food without washing their hands. Better choices are close by. Thank you.

Diner Grill is iconic! If you've ever had one too many in Lake View you probably have here, and depending on how many you had you probably had a slinger. There is nothing better than a greasy burger cooked on a flat top grill and Diner Grill does it right. I've actually stood behind someone waiting for one of the ten or so spots at the counter and I still wait every single time. It's nothing fancy, but all done in an old school way that reminds me of a time where simple was all that was needed. Breakfast is always good there as well, but on special nights there's nothing quite

We never got served food! They never acknowledge us! I guess because we were people of color. We waiting quietly for about 10 mins and no ask or told us that if we needed anything or they will get to us. They acted like we didn't exsisted. I never felt so invisible in life, it's like we didn't existed. Know I know where I am not welcomed. But when other guess were there they attended them with no problem. I don't know what I did wrong or what made them not wanting to serve us. But now we know not to go back there again!

It was a very late night and I am in the street looking for a nice casual restaurant cause I am starving and I found Dinner Grill along my way. It is a very small place has a around ten available seats in the counter and few seats outside. I was greeted by the two staff which is the cashier and the cook. Both of them is very friendly and I ordered a cheeseburger and a cup of coke. It is just a great restaurant for that night, casual and old school kinda vibe. I could see the cook actually cooking my food right in front of me and the smell was really good. The food was served hot and fresh. The

Excellent Diner I have lived near here for years and just never tried it until a few month ago. Now we eat breakfast here all the time. The best Steak And Eggs. My husband has an omelette and it is always fresh not greasy and the service is also good. Another thing about this place they are dog friendly too!
They place old school rock and roll which is awesome! The food is simple and very good. Very casual!

Omgsh guys! This place was way better than expected so good we came back all 3 nights we were in town! The best food after a night out on the town (or for a quick brunch/dinner). The cook and waitress were amazing and very quick service. It's a very tiny place with maybe 10 bar seats and a tiny outside waiting area for togos. You order, they make it in front of you, you eat, pay, then go lol. In and out each night. We all got burgers the first night and they were SO good, best cheeseburger I've had in a while. Cheese fries and milkshakes were also fire. Prices were very reasonable and

Neighborhood Staple and one of the few remaining diners let alone 24/7 diners. So glad they reopened after the fire. The new menu additions such as the breakfast burrito are very welcome. Great spot, old school vibe, great staff (I do miss the old crew though), and wallet friendly prices.

Highlights:
Double cheeseburger
Grilled cheese
Breakfast burrito
Skillets
Slinger

I have ordered from this place several times through 3rd party sites and most of the time it was an ok to a good experience. I noticed this place has a website now and checked it out. It offered the option to have delivery through them directly for them and me to get a break on fees. I gave it a shot. Big mistake!!!

I ordered through their website tonight at 10:08pm. I received a phone call from their cook/cashier/delivery driver/who knows what else at 10:45pm saying he was working by himself and could not deliver. Then he said I was too far even though I am a little less than a mile away. I told

Diner Grill will get the job done if you're inebriated and ravenous. The portions are hearty and the prices reasonable. Simple diner food that will fill you up, but won't knock your socks off. I'm not certain, but I think they changed the burger. I remember it being much better before the fire. Now it seems like a frozen patty.

Pro Tip: Not many seats inside. Consider taking to go or eating in your car. Patrons ignore social distancing. Police officers often dine in during the 3rd shift.

You can't really beat an old school 24/7 diner. You know the kind you can stop in at 3 am after a long night out for a greasy real deal cheeseburger and homemade chili or soup or at 8 am for a solid breakfast to start your day. The Diner Grill has been around a long time now. There are no bells and whistles, just old Chicago diner food to fit anyone's taste and budget. They used to be where the cabbies, truckers, coppers and unsavory types hung all night to hide from the world outside. All with limited counter seating. But but was a different neighborhood then. Kinda like the old Mel

I never came here even though I'd pass by it all the time. Three of us were on our way somewhere else to eat when one of my buddies told me the story, that it had burned down and been rebuilt-sorry, I've moved around a lot so I didn't even know, I thought it had just gotten a facelift.

Also, what the hell is a slinger? That pretty much settled it and we pulled a U-ey and parked.

Diner Grill is like a lot of the old school diners that used to fill Chicago, Cozy Corners, Three-way Grill just unassuming places, opened late night that have gone the way of the dinosaur.

This place is awesome. This is my favorite Chicago diner, hands down. It's in a converted tiny old boxcar. While there is not much room inside, this quaint diner was recently remodeled and is kept very clean. They cook your food in front of you and often play 90's Alternative music videos on their TV. The food tastes AMAZING, thanks to their capable cooks. The staff are friendly and work hard.
I wish I could give 10 stars for their bathroom as well. Although the diner is very small, the single-bathroom is roomy. It is the cleanest bathroom you will probably ever see at a diner. They clean it continually
