I am writing to you today with gratitude after reflecting on my past 45 years at Lakewood. I am retiring and will be closing the business, it has been a long rewarding career. The relationships we have developed over these many years have enabled us to produce year-round crops. Without your support and the committed staff behind us, we could not have made it happen.
I am looking forward to less stress and more time with my family. I would urge you to contact the Maumee Valley Growers at their website, maumeevalleygrowers.com where you will find a complete listing of our grower members in the area that will be able to fill your holiday needs.

Lakewood Greenhouse was established in the late 1890's by William F. Krueger to produce cut Carnations. His son, Walter Krueger, Sr. took over the business and began growing potted holiday plants, annuals, and spring crops. Mr. Krueger continues to oversee the production of Easter Lilies, as well as doing repairs around the greenhouse, at the age of 93.
