Roger and April Barrow purchased Whiteford Road Greenhouse in the fall of 1974. Roger Barrow, being the 6th generation in his family to run and own greenhouses, was the first to break away from the wholesale flower business and focus strictly on retail. His attention to detail and eye for quality is what has made Whiteford Greenhouse the top greenhouse in the Toledo area.

Full shade refers to less than 4-6 hours of morning sun or a garden under a dense tree canopy. This means NO afternoon sun which will fry the shade loving plants. Full Sun means you get at least 6+ hours of all day sun, which includes morning and afternoon sun. In the afternoon the sun is much more direct so therefore 4+ hours of afternoon is sufficient for Full Sun.
Patio Pots or Container Gardening is a perfect way to add splashes of color at key locations of your home or business. Our designers are trained in knowing what plants complement each. We grow our perennials to be hard and tough so they can be planted ANYTIME the ground is not frozen. We are confident in this technique which requires specialized knowledge and growing.
Our family has many years of experience in growing annuals and our customer focused approach makes your shopping experience just that, an experience. I have really loved this greenhouse for many years returning multiple times a year. However, today 7/15 4:50pm despite only myself and one other customer and two employees who made eye contact, I was unable to get any assistance. Very few plants have tags with even the product name which makes finding info regarding the plant (appropriate for your location, sun, water, soil, ) impossible without staff. Therefore, I left for another greenhouse, as did the other customer. Very disappointed as this has been my go to for all my gardening needs.

Huge selection and beautiful flowers. I asked about military discount to which one employee provided. I returned later in the day to get more, and when I asked again, this other employee seemed rather angry that someone provided it to me. They need a policy of "yes they provide one" or "No they do not" Otherwise, it's an amazing selection that is well cared for.

I got my mom a beautiful basket for Mother’s Day. It was supposed to be a curbside pick up but I was new to the place and didn’t understand where that parking was. They were busy on the inside which is why they didn’t pick up when I called. I went in and picked up my order. Staff was very friendly. The plants are gorgeous. I will definitely be back.
