Salesianum School Store
Their mission: establish a secondary school for boys to minister to the city's growing immigrant and industrial base. And thus, The French School, was founded in a house, funded by the Sisters of the Visitation, at the corner of 8th and West Streets. By the fall of 1903, the school's early name had already been dropped in favor of Salesianum - the House of Sales - which had an auspicious start welcoming its first 12 students in September.

By 1907, four graduates became the first Salesian Gentlemen, forging a pathway that subsequently has been followed by more than 17,000 alumni, who live in all fifty states, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. The growth and diaspora of Salesianum would surely inspire pride and humility in the school's founders.
Services
The service journey begins with the freshman class focusing on experience through social justice via relationship-based ministry. Students will choose one week throughout the school year to dedicate towards being a mentor and tutor for a student at Nativity Preparatory School.

The week will begin with an orientation and end with a debrief on the experience and not only what it takes to serve and how we are called to be in solidarity with our community. The sophomores must endeavor to listen to the voices of the marginalized in our midst. The options for service partnerships span across populations in the spirit of Church teaching regarding Respect and Dignity of the Human Person.
Who are eager to develop intellectually, physically, relationally, and spiritually in a school culture defined by the Salesian tradition. Who will embrace the Gospel challenge to serve a world in need by cultivating and generously sharing their gifts and talents as Salesian gentlemen committed to others, especially those who are marginalized or poor.
Salesianum strives to foster diversity and inclusion in all facets of our community. While proud of our history being the first school in Delaware to integrate in 1950, we also recognize that coming together was only a beginning. As a Catholic school, we believe every human being possesses the dignity of being made in God's image.
Salesianum's campus is situated in an urban, residential section of Wilmington, DE. With easy access to major arteries including I-95, Routes 202 and 52, it remains easily accessible from regional way points. Our student body represents four states: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and come from a vibrant mix different economic, cultural and religious backgrounds.
Thank you for your interest in exploring career opportunities with Salesianum. We are a welcoming and caring community that challenges our students, faculty and staff to best versions of themselves, every day. Salesianum's student body is comprised of 1,000 young men with different abilities, diverse backgrounds and who reside in a broad geographical that spans three states.
