Malvern Prep is the direct continuation of the academy program founded in 1842 by the Augustinians as the preparatory school for what is now Villanova University. During the next year, Rev. John O'Dwyer, the first president, worked tirelessly to get the school up and running, and traveled to Europe in search of qualified faculty.
Previously, he served as President of St. Augustine Preparatory School. He has an extensive background in education, theological studies, and Institutional Advancement. He has provided board leadership to Malvern Prep, Villanova University, and Merrimack College. Currently, he is serving on the boards of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and Malvern Prep.
A Leadership Team in an Augustinian School engages in a process of collaboration and collegiality in manners pertaining to the school community. The assumption is that each member of the team has a valued perspective and is genuinely invested in the endeavor which maximizes the efforts of others - faculty, staff, and students, toward the achievement of a greater good, namely, the education of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Best Catholic prep school ever! Our son was there grades 6 through 12. I may not drive a fancy car or have a new kitchen but my son is well educated! The teachers are the school's greatest asset. They are passionate about Augustinian education. Malvern Prep is a very special place.

My two boys have received very good educations here. Top notch academics, athletics, and arts programs have really made them well rounded individuals. The school lets "boys be boys" while still maintaining a rigorous and academically challenging approach for the more advanced classes, and there is a great sense of community here.

The jury is still out for me on the new "21st century learning" techniques. It is good to see some innovation in education and I like that and the new scheduling. I do think there needs to be a balance though with some more traditional education
