Full mouth implants are an option for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth and are seeking to reconstruct their entire mouth for restored function and appearance. Missing teeth can lead to serious dental problems and can significantly inhibit a patient's ability to eat and speak. Full mouth restoration implants are most often placed with dentures or bridges, providing patients with a restored smile.
Gum recession is when the gum tissue is lost around teeth and/or implants. It can occur on the front, back, and/or sides of a tooth or implant. The result of receding gums is root exposure that can sometimes cause root sensitivity to hot or cold foods or drinks. Aesthetics are also a common concern with gum recession due to a "long tooth" look or "black triangles" in between the teeth.
Someone is said to have a "gummy smile" when a disproportionate amount of gums are shown during smiling. That being said, a normal smile is subjective, and one person's definition of a "gummy smile" may be different than another's. Our goal is to help you achieve the type of smile you desire.
There are several causes of a gummy smile, including excessive gum tissue, excessive bone around teeth (sometimes causing short teeth and/or jaw protuberance), disproportionate jaw formation, a short upper lip, and/or a hyperactive upper lip.Dr. Holland will provide a thorough evaluation to determine the cause(s).

A healthy periodontium (healthy gums) is one where the gums are pink and absent of inflammation (no bleeding gums) and where there is no supporting bone loss. Periodontitis is when the disease progresses from the gums to the supporting structures (bone, periodontal ligament). Bone loss is noted as well as gum recession.

I am so glad I met Dr. Holland. My teeth and gums were in a bad way. He is very professional, treats you like family and has a real concern over not only your health, but your financial health. The procedures I was quoted before I met Dr. Holland were presented by pushy salespeople, with unrealistic pricing. Dr. Holland came up with an affordable solution that gave me a perfect smile. I use to love to smile and laugh big. To lose it and get it back is priceless. His entire team is way above par.

It’s almost impossible to meet a dental professional nicer than Dr. Holland. He is seriously a kind, very down-to-earth person who never rushed me at my appointments, and has very good bedside manner. He is also honest and didn’t recommend a major treatment that I thought I needed (because a couple other periodontists told me so) but actually didn’t... saved me thousands of $$. His assistant is also equally lovely!

I have Dr. Holland to thank for his professionalism and precision - my smile looks a million times better! After years of hesitating to move forward with gum grafting surgery, I am so happy I finally did. Not only was Dr. Holland masterful during the actual procedure, he was accessible and supportive whenever I had a question throughout the healing process.
