At the heart of Ristorante La Perla is a core lunch and dinner menu developed by Chef Vittorio Testa. The menu is based on Italian recipes that he has developed over the past 50 years. Emphasis is placed on simple, high quality, fresh ingredients and traditional Italian cooking methods. Fresh pastas are made in-house daily, and dried pastas are imported from Italy.
All meals are made at the time of ordering and are complemented by a selection of handmade breads baked according to traditional methods. We also have a wide range fresh desserts that includes cakes, in house made gelato, in house made cannoli, pies and monthly dessert specials.

I have been coming to Ristorante La Perla and its previous location in McLean, Virginia for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Chef Testa has become a dear family friend over the years and I called ahead to let him know we were coming in for a special occasion and he pulled out all the stops to make us feel at home and like family. We started our evening with a glass of champagne and a couple of appetizers. We had oysters on the half shell and prosciutto with melon. We then had the seafood risotto and veal chop for our mains and finished the evening with chef's mouth watering tiramisu

The food is good, but the service is very problematic. We spent three hours eating dinner because no one here to serve us: 40 minutes waiting to order, after the appetizer, more 40 minutes for the main course, no one asked us if we wanted dessert 40 minutes after the main course. When we asked to the dessert menu, no one took it to us. In addition. The environment is too crowded, and the waiter keeps touching the guests while walking, making it uncomfortable.

This was an experience that requires attention. We were six people for an 8:30 p.m. reservation on a Friday night. When we walked in the restaurant it was fairly empty and our waiter Fred did not have our table ready for the six of us. It never occurred to him when he sat us down that we did not have six place settings because he was too busy in the back talking and laughing with other waiters and paying no attention to our table. On top of that he ran out of spoons and glasses so we drank wine out of non wine glasses and we did not have spoons for those people that wanted to use a spoon with their

Hands down, this is by far the best Italian restaurant we have ever been visited. The food is phenomenal. The decor is beautiful. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxing. I highly recommend this place if you want to take you tastebuds on a pleasure cruise. We love everything here. The food is so authentic. It is a piece of Italy here in the states. I can’t say enough good stuff about this restaurant. We plan on coming back again and again!

Food was delicious. I started with these two jumbo shrimp encrusted with coconut, on a bed of oranges in a really tasty orange sauce. It's one of the chef's creations and was unique and delightful.
The penne alla vodka and my risotto were absolutely decadent. One richer and tastier than the next.
We had a really tasty dry red wine. The angel hair pesto was creamier than I'm used to and threw me off a bit. It was rich while I was expecting a light, refreshing pesto with olive oil. The bronzini pizzaiola was delicious with the sauce but a bit bland on its own.
The chef came out and talked to all

Formerly my favorite restaurant. The service staff and cooks seem to be over worked. While the food is consistently good, we waited much too long for drinks, appetizers, and the main course. It seems that you only get your proper service if you openly complain. During our 3 hour visit, we witnessed multiple complaints regarding the service. If this continues, the restaurant will be closed within a year.

I got the minestrone for my appetizer- very flavorful and filling. I also got the chicken parmigiana which was bigger than what I’m used to. It comes with a side of spaghetti. I’m not sure what the dessert was called but it was a chocolate shell filled with gelato and it was absolutely divine. Their selection of wines were nice as well. The chef came out from time to time to ensure guests were enjoying their food and I loved that. We were seated as soon as we got In and they had a full house. Our server was so kind and courteous. Wait time was not bad for food that came out fresh and hot. Would

They have a nice selection of hot and cold anti pasta. It all looked so good it was hard to make a choice. I chose the salmon and was not disappointed. The rigatoni with homemade sausage , shrimp and scallops was incredible! I had to use the fresh bread to get every bit of sauce from my plate. The staff were very attentive with out hovering around. They made good food and wine selections. The Chef came to the table and really cared about our experience. Very memorable meal!
