I got a haircut and color by Miyako. I have really thick unmanageable hair, but when she cut my hair, I don't know what she did on my hair besides cut, my hair's texture changed, it became so manageable and easy to blow dry styling in the morning! I am so happy with her haircut! She utilized my natural wavy as moderate body.. and color was exact what I wanted! Thank you!! :)

Tori is a wax master. She's thorough, professional, and skilled at her craft. Her room is welcoming, cute, and warm, just like her personality. I recommend getting waxed by Tori at Potions Salon. I also purchased an ingrown hair serum from her and it actually works!! Oh and I Love her Cactus themed room! So cute

Had Michiko cut my hair and she was amazing as always. Other staff were friendly and the salon was very clean & organized. Great to know that they offer a wide array of services aside from hair, so I may come here for a manicure too since the prices are very reasonable. :-)

I walked into potions with a greenish blue, patchy overgrown pixie that I had little hope of fixing. I wanted a natural color and a cut that needed some serious fixing. Venis was very honest when she told me she wasn't 100% sure the blue would life enough to get me red when we did our consult but man, that woman is a miracle worker. I walked out of the salon with a stylish dark auburn bob that was everything that I hoped it would be. Honestly it was the best money I have ever spent on my hair and now potions has a customer for life!

Love this place! Harsha is amazing, just recently started playing with color and we have been having the best time. The products she uses lasts a really long time and she works with me to make my vision come true. Highly Recommend this place!! You also get to drink champagne while you get your hair done!

Absolutely wonderful experience with Daniel as my stylist. I love the salon, and all the extras they offer customers (champagne, even!) made me feel as if they really cared about me. But the best part was the job Daniel did on my hair. And I sure didn't make it easy on him. I let my hair go for long enough that it was down to my waist by the time I went in to get it cut. Poor Daniel had to spend two hours wrapping the whole thing in foils for the highlighting part, but he never once complained and kept me entertained the whole time with lively conversation. Daniel is a hair artist! He did an amazing color correction for my 15 year old daughter that was awesome! I was a cosmetology student and was unable to reverse the blood red, then black dye on her hair. She loves what he did in ONE session and he stayed til 9:00 PM to get her hair looking perfect for her school pics in a few days! I will never go anywhere else for my own hair and my two daughters!! I forgot to mention, he's a total doll! So fun, personable and genuinely an all around fantastic guy! Salon owner assisted for consult and they both were so knowledgeable and down to earth! I just had the best experience possible today: It is my Birthday week and when I heard of potions being so close to home, I decided to give it a try. I am so beyond happy that I did. I booked my appointment with Daniel, he is amazing, he offered me a drink when i came in and introduced me to another staff person named Harsha. While sipping my drink and having the best conversations with Daniel, I noticed all of the decor, it was the perfect setting for a wonderful time and very, very clean. While I was in the dryers, I noticed both staff wiping things down where previous clients had sat and shelving

I was visiting Portland very recently and felt the need to get my hair cut as it was getting a bit unruly for my taste. Luckily, I came across Potions when I was running around with my friend doing her errands. I'm kind of picky about haircuts and Daniel cut my hair exactly as I wanted it done. He spent a few minutes listening to what I wanted and got to work. Daniel is a good conversationalist, also, and time flew by. I'll come back here again next time I'm in town.

I had a terrible experience at Potions. I was unhappy with what they did to my hair and asked them to fix it but the owner was totally inflexible and didn't take any responsibility for messing up my hair. Under the pretext of fixing it, they colored an even worse color than the first time. I left the salon looking like a zombie. Never going back again. Customer satisfaction is not their priority.

I found a new place just before Christmas, after moving to the area. I liked the prices and read the positive reviews & that they have this additive for when you get your hair lightened that's advanced the hair lightening industry by miles, called Olaplex. I looked into it since whenever I get my hair lightened it seems to get straw like. I tried it, I did pay a little more for it but have since gone back and I am loving my soft blonde hair! The salon is clean, the young lady who did my hair Harsha was so kind and did a great job! I loved the music selection that was playing and overall

I visited Potions Salon today for the 1st time and I had the most awesome experience with Harsha! She is very talented, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. This lovely salon provides coffees, teas, champagne and beer if you so desire! They offer unique and specialized hair treatments to enhance your look. Services I've never seen elsewhere. What a wonderful experience my daughter and I had at Potions!

I brought my daughter in to Venis for a cut and highlights, and was impressed from the minute we got there. Venis spent a good amount of time with her and the style books making sure she knew exactly what color my daughter was looking for. Then, champagne for mom (or coffee, tea, water, anything you'd like, really) while the color was applied. Efficient, friendly, fun service, and the color turned out PERFECT. She looks like she's been out in the sun - the depth and movement of the color far surpassed any expectations

The salon is very classy with lots of amenities and the policy is you leave happy no matter what it takes. Venus is a color genius! She can accomplish any look and because of this I have never used another stylist for 10 years. Best. Salon. Ever.

I've never been more disappointed after having my hair "professionally" colored. I am a brunette who wanted to try going blonde. Let me first start by mentioning, I asked Haydn if this was something she was capable of doing for my hair type, when I first walked in. She responded "of course!", and proceeded to have a mini consult with Sabrina and I about mixing the color. Come to find, I still had a small amount of hair dye on my tips so they had to do another mixture to counter-act the pinkish tones. I was so excited to re-connect with SABRINA! From the moment I walking in the door Haydn greeted me, accompanied me with a drink & I filled out a new client card. During my process Sabrina talked me through it all, asking me what did I want to do with my hair. I got lots of dead hair cut off & got the Ola-Triplex Treatment, she basically brought my hair back to life! I can't wait to go back!

First and foremost, Sabrina is awesome. Before I came to this salon I was hoping from one salon to another all over Portland. From the very first time I booked with them they were super professional and very fair on pricing. Sabrina always does a great job, even when I have no clue what I want. She is very knowledgeable and even gave me advice when I dyed my hair at home and couldn't afford to come in for a fix. I feel bad giving a negative review because the staff was so extremely friendly! I am just disappointed with the color services I received. Haydn was so nice and I really enjoyed talking to her. I know she is new talent, but Sabrina, an experienced stylist actually mixed the color and suggested how she dye my hair. Haydn did a great cut, but the color was off. I asked for dark brown (my natural) with very subtle red. It came out way redder than I wanted! Haydn knew I was disappointed and offered for me to come back to get it fixed the next week. I was referred to stylist Sabrina by my sister, who'd just gotten a fantastic cut from her a few days prior. I moved here from Key West a year ago and had yet to find a regular stylist.

The salon has a warm, inviting and clean atmosphere and I was greeted right away. Sabrina was upbeat, kind, and thorough. I could tell she really cared about not only the cut, but how it would fit my hair and lifestyle. About the salon, it is extremely comfortable and clean. They have all the services: hair (of course), nails, massage.

I needed a trim and a blowout for a company holiday party on short notice. I called at 3:30pm and I was sitting in Sabrina's chair by 4:30 that day! I was in a time crunch and Sabrina did a great job with my hair!

When I went in for my cut, my hair was to my rear. Sabrina was the first place I had gone that didn't bash my long hair (even if it was a little unhealthy at the time) and she even called it "mermaid hair". She didn't want to chop it all off like the other experiences I've had before, she just wanted to make it healthy again! This was my first cut with Sabrina and I left feeling like a friend.
