Angel Azul Bakery Cafe
Angel Azul Bakery is filled with angel statues and we include an angel in our logo. The Name 'Angel Azul' was chosen by our Mother Zoily and it is reflective of the archangel Michael and the blue angel light ray. Zoily says, When we left Ecuador we left everything behind, we had a big house and the children went to private school. My Brother-in-law was an American citizen and he sponsored us and put all the paperwork in.

My husband and I always stop here for breakfast when we visit our son.

The café con leche is the best and everything is amazing: from the empanadas to the pastries and the breakfast specials. Nothing is ever disappointing. Oh, and get the fresh squeezed orange juice!

This review is based solely on the food items and offerings. Not decor. They have a very nice selection of baked items. They also sell coffee, juices and rice pudding. I’m not Colombian, so I enjoy trying the different assortments. My go-to are the bunuelo, which is a round brown ball that has cheese baked inside. However, you wouldn’t know that because it’s not cheesy or stringy. The pastilles de guayaba (guava puff) is so flaky sweet with just the right amount of guava jelly inside. The Colombian empanadas come with their type of hot sauce on the side. Colombian empanadas have generous

I stopped in here because I saw all the good reviews lol. I ordered food to go.
The kind woman who helped me was excellent! I didn't catch her name. I asked her what was the most popular and what she liked most and so I ordered the pork belly (which was delicious!), chorizo (also delicious!), and a potato. I also got the cheese bread (gluten free!) and cheesecake.
Everything was excellent!! I ordered the Spanish coffee too which she told me was strong. It is! Yumm. And prices are great too! I only wish they had a milk alternative for the coffee, that's all. I can't have milk in my

Been coming here for years. I grew up in the heights and have eaten from every restaurant. This place has the best coffee and breakfast. Definitely better than rumbas. All the pastries here are fresh and delish. It can get really busy in here. Sometimes the line is out the door.

This restaurant gets no stars. One of the staff members was extremely rude and seriously needs a class on customer service. Food is great though

My favorite columbian bakery. Wayyyyy better than noches de Colombia. Pan de bono is to die for and they are super economical. You can have a full meal and wont be spending more an 10 dollars. It's my quick stop to go before I head to work.

Big fan of this bakery. It's run by a family who has owned this place for over 20 years if I remember my history. Everything here tastes freshly home baked and cooked.

Most of the cookies are delicious and my favorites are the pandebono's (Columbia cheesy bread) and especially the apple turnovers. Hands down the best place to get both of these items. They also have delicious Spanish coffee which always hits the spot with any of the pastries.

The prices are also very cheap which is a win win with the quality. I bought 3 small cookies, an apple turnover and a small Spanish coffee all

My kids and I discovered this little gem while doing the jersey city scavenger hunt and we fell in love! Okay well, I fell in love with their Colombian coffee! It was so so delicious and cheap! $2 mocha coffee, you absolutely cannot beat! It's a great place to stop in with the kids and grab a cookie, once again, super cheap. Less than a dollar for a cookie! They take care of its $10 or more or they add a .50 charge if it's less than $10. Which I honestly didn't mind because I hate when small businesses won't take your card at all because they loose my business. I also grabbed

This food (chorizo with baked potato) put me in hospital. I wish I can give a minus star, so nobody will eat it. It should be removed from menu. The sausage was not properly cooked and who knows how long it stood there on diplay and collect bacteria.

Can't go wrong with Angel Azul. The breakfast and pastry snacks are on point and very affordable. Large cafe con leches for $2 and a full size breakfast for $4.75. If looking for a take out snack, the lines can get quite long but the cost benefit works in Angel Azul's favor. Great spot in JC Heights!

The best spot in the heights for Colombian breakfast. Even when there is a line, the service is speedy and friendly. Love the ladies behind the counter who make the best coffee. Make sure to get a Colombian hot chocolate which has the melted cheese in it. Savory and sweet and hits the spot.

This is within a 5 mile radius of Cake Boss (Carlo's Bakery) but I would come here over Carlo's anytime. And I did, twice in four days. I'm even craving it now.

I love the cheese bread (pan con queso). It's pretty much on par with oxygen and other vital essential life sustaining functions.

Yes. That's right. I love the pan con queso so much I want to marry it! This is coming from a committed bachelorette. As in, firmly decided, not mentally incarcerated.

Back to the pan con queso, it's just so delicious and the cheese is perfection. It's not oozy, it&apos

In search of Colombian raspado (IMO, very different from Mexican raspado), I arrived here. Raspados are shaved or crushed ice dessert drinks with fruit syrups or purees and also drizzled with condensed milk. Here, they had both passion fruit and black berry syrups. I opted for both and didn't regret it. And to think, they were only ~$3.50! I ordered two, one for me and one for the bf, which ended up to be too much for the both of us. One is enough to share if you're into that kind of thing. :P And yes, this place sold cholados, something akin to a raspado, ecxept I believe it is usually

This bakery is a gem! Please stop in for some delicious cafe con leche or pureed oatmeal good enough to drink! Perfect morning spot. They open up bright and early before all of jersey city does, and everyone working there has a sun y and helpful disposition. Do everyone a favor and try to communicate efficiently as everyone speaks spanish and most of them english.
All the baked goods are clearly labeled and priced so please do not hold up the line. Usually a very fast paced and stream-lined service counter.
They specialize in typical south american baked goods but also serve made-to-order breakfast

They have the best café con leche and the last time we got one, it wasn't in a styrofoam cup - woot! I LOVE their Pan de Yuca as well as their empanada with the guayabana - I'm probably butchering the name... The mini Pan de Bonos are my hub's favorites. A decent sized coffee for the cost. Love this place.

One word: PANDEBONO. That bread alone makes the visit worth it. It's not always out with the rest of the breads and pastries, but that's a good thing. Cheesy, warm, pillowy, and inexpensive... it's a carby dream.

The other breads are good as well. I've tried the pan de queso, bolos, and pan con jamón y queso. Arepas are tasty. I've yet to try the sweet pastries, but I admittedly don't have much of a sweet tooth.

The bakery also offers breakfast. There are always empanadas, chicharrones, and other Colombian specialties behind the counter. Every time I've been

This is a great little bakery! They have a nice selection of Spanish sweet breads and super strong coffee to get your day going. My dad used to love coming by here for their coffee!

My favorite is a bun called pan de bono (a cheese bread), which I reheat by throwing in my toaster oven for a minute or two. My dad used to love buying their bags of day old buns, usually in clear bags right by the register. They're reduced price and still delicious.

They serve slices of cake and other desserts (flan, etc), fruit smoothies, and fresh juices. During the summer, they serve granizados (shaved fruit
