Services
Dr. Jesse Ko was born in South Korea and grew up in the Bay Area. He graduated from Mills High School and completed his Bachelors in Science and Masters degree in 1999 at the U.C. Berkeley School of Engineering. He worked as an engineer in the Bay Area for several years before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry.
Braces use constant, gentle pressure, which over time, move teeth into their proper positions. Your braces are at work every moment of your orthodontic treatment. The two main components of your braces are - the metal brackets that are placed on your teeth and the main archwire that connects them. Each bracket is secured to the connecting wire with rubber bands which we'll change for you each month.
Dr. Yoon received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry(2006) and completed her Orthodontics Specialty Certificate & Masters in Oral Biology at the Loma Linda University Graduate Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics Program (2008).
Her undergraduate training also began at UCLA where she majored in Molecular Cell & Developmental Biology (1998-2000), and she completed her Bachelors in Science in Biology from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA (2002).Dr. Yoon has been practicing orthodontics since 2006, providing orthodontic care for children, teens & adults.

The temporal mandibular joint is closely integrated with occlusion (bite) and thus orthodontics. Improper bite over the long-term can contribute to temporal mandibular dysfunction (TMD) with symptoms such as clenching/grinding, jaw & facial muscle pain, clicking/popping of the TMJ, locking etc. A CBCT Image allows us to see the temporal mandibular join in 3 dimensions and accurately diagnose & treat TMD in conjunction with the occlusion or bite.

I need to first start by saying that I am not always the easiest person to deal with. I am usually running late, dealing with too many things, and pretty busy like most people. I also tend to have very high expectations. So this doesn't always set health care providers up for success with me.
With that being said, my wife and I decided to get braces together. Yes, grown adults with kids, getting braces much later in life. We were referred to Dr. Ko and his team and went for a consultation and made the decision to move forward with using them for our orthodontic care.

I've been waiting to post my review but I really should of done it sooner. Dr. Ko and Dr. Yoon are exceptionally kind, hard working orthodontics. They have built a wonderful team who truly make you feel like family. They are so good that I drive 3 hours away because I felt I was going to get the best and highest quality treatment, as well as results.

I LOVE Tri-Valley Orthodontics! I travel from Richmond in traffic for my appointments, and I look forward to going. From the time I walk in the door the staff members bring a smile to my face with their friendliness. I always feel like the ENTIRE office is happy to see me. The ladies in the back keep me laughing and they're so on point with their jobs! What can I say about Dr. Ko...Oh my goodness...I love me some Dr. Ko!! Drs. Ko and Yoon have been masterfully handling our daughter's orthodontic care for the last 2 years. They recommended a much less aggressive treatment plan than the other providers we initially interviewed, resulting in a much more relaxed and MUCH more tolerable plan of action that absolutely made the most sense for her issues. I am so happy and impressed with the decision to get my teeth straightened at Tri-Valley Orthodontics. I was initially pleased after the consultation, the doctors (husband and wife) were patient and explained everything without feeling pushy. They wanted to know what I wanted to see and they also told me what they, as professionals, knew what needed to be done. The office is bright and clean, with state of the art technology. With 3 boys, it was so important to find the right Orthodontist for their Oral Health and Care. After meeting Dr Ko for an Initial consultation for our Oldest son, we were extremely impressed with how Dr Ko can see beyond just the Orthodontics treatment. Had a great experience from first to last, the entire staff is very friendly and caring. I never had to wait during my appointments, they were ready to see me as I walked in. The Drs. are very experienced. Office is very bright and clean, they have all the latest medical equipments. I had crowding and now its all aligned perfectly.

We chose to go with Dr.Ko and Dr. Yoon for orthodontic treatment for our two boys and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The office itself is open and inviting, and the staff carries that atmosphere throughout the office. We were always greeted by name, welcomed into the back on time and both orthodontists spent quality time with us, showing not just patience with our questions, but actually getting to know us. My family likes the entire staffs in this practice! The facility itself is very clean, nice, and modern. The staff is absolutely friendly, accommodating, understanding, and courteous. Dr. Ko and Dr. Yoon are also very attentive, competent, knowledgeable and professional. My two sons have been undergoing orthodontic treatment in this facility since 2016 and the process of scheduling appointments, treatment is extremely seamless and the quality of work and follow up after care, including attention to details, is very excellent. I had some minor movement after having braces as a teen and wanted to get things straightened out. I am happy to report my smile is back in full effect.
Both drs are wonderful and gentle in their approach. The staff is friendly and their office is extremely clean.

Before chooosing Tri Valley orthodontics, I had my 12 year old daughter attend the free consultations from 2 other orthodontists in the area. Hands down, Dr. Anne Yoon was the BEST. I am very impressed with the team here at Tri-Valley Orthodontics. I brought my daughter in for the complimentary braces consultation and from beginning to end we were treated with the utmost respect and given the best service anyone can ask for. The office is very clean and they have all of the most up to date equipment. My 9 year old son, Matthew, had a wonderful experience this past year with Dr. Ko. He had crooked front teeth and had a slight overbite. Dr. Ko was very thorough in his explanations to the process and walked us through what will happen for the entire year.
