I assist my clients in achieving their goals. You want a therapist whom you trust. You want someone who is easy to talk to, who will listen and not judge you.
If you want to make personal changes, I can show you strategies that will help you develop new habits and keep you motivated. If you are struggling in your relationships with others (spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, family members, coworkers, boss) I can share insights and strategies about how you can express yourself more effectively.

My specialty is the psychology of changing patterns of behavior. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and my work is often informed by the insight of a Psychodynamic perspective. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a practical approach that helps my clients to make changes in the here and now.

People often seek psychotherapy to get relief from the emotional pain or frustration of a mental condition such as a mood disorder i.e. Someone may be overwhelmed by stress or may simply want to better manage a particular area of their life. They may want to perform better at work or in school, improve their decision making skills, manage money more effectively or get more organized.
Psychotherapy is communication between a patient and therapist that is intended to relieve emotional distress, seek solutions to problems or modify ways of thinking or acting that are impairing work or relationships. The person seeking therapy may come to the first session with a clear goal in mind or they may work with the therapist to determine a goal.
I treat adult males and females and all types of eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and other disordered eating. I work closely with the client's medical doctor and nutritionist as a component part of the team approach to treatment. I only work with clients who are under the care of a doctor and nutritionist unless they are firmly established in recovery.
I treat adults who either: know they have a problem with drugs or alcohol or are not sure if they have a problem with drugs or alcohol. I also work with adults who are in recovery for alcoholism or drug addiction or who have relapsed and want to get back into recovery. I provide practical information regarding addiction diagnosis and treatment.
