I had the best Greek salad I have ever had in a restaurant. The salad was fresh, crunchy, the dressing was light, and fresh blocks of feta. I ordered the pretzels as well.....fresh buttery deliciousness.

We've lived in St Pete for 4 years and this was my first time dining here - why did I wait so long?!

The vegan curry vegan sausage was so good! I'm trying to eat vegan during the workweek to cut down on my meat consumption, otherwise I would have gotten the regular currywurst. They also had Hot Wine that day - Christmas in a glass! So stinking tasty!

Service was great and the environment was lovely.

Party of two - ordered two draft beers, a pretzel meze, a Vienna schnitzel dinner and a currywurst dinner to sample the menu as this was our first time visiting. Had to double check with google exactly what some of the options were on the menu, but we ended up confident in our choices.

Beers were tasty, not too heavy and the two sauces that came with the pretzel bites, a sweet mustard based sauce and something like a red pepper/pimento dip were both good (the remaining sweet mustard also tasted great with the fries).

Service was pleasant, friendly - we were not rushed at all. Food came out

You'd be hard pressed to find a more satisfying meal on Central Avenue then this. Especially for the money.
Great transporting experience

Authentic german food and experience. They also have a great vibe to drink a few german beers. I would highly recommend coming and enjoying the brats and german potatoe salad. The potatoe salad and sourkrout are unique and very good. I think the owners also work in the front and back of house great service as well

Cutest little place located on Central strip! Hidden gem, limited parking but it is DT.

Sausage is very good and the best French fries in st. Pete! I will be back, this will be a go to for me.

Tons of live music outside as well, adds a nice touch. Service is friendly and accommodating. Loved everything about this place, you must try this place!!

First things first: these are the best fries I've had in St. Pete! Even in all of Pinellas County. Five stars for the fries alone.

That out of the way-- there's a bunch of great places in the Edge District and it's easy to skip past German Knodle, but you're doing yourself a disservice every time you do. It appears to be family owned, and the woman who doubled as hostess and server to the entire place was so lovely. The menu is small but focused, and I'm sure everything is delicious. My kasewurst (cheese sausage) was delicious and cooked to perfection, and so was my husband

Been wanting to stop in here for a while. 2nd stop on our progressive dinner for our main.

Place your order and grab a seat. They will bring it out to you. We got the Jaeger Schnitzel with fries. Yummy! Cooked nicely and good flavors.

The fries were the best part though. Nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and pillow on the inside. Season well. Delicious! Cold beer when well with this as you would expect.

Sitting out side in DTSP here is fun and it is a pretty busy area.

Delicious! Bright, open restaurant. The owner was so nice and funny too.

I've always shied away from German food because I thought it was very mayonnaise-y, cheesy and creamy. Uh, how wrong I was. German Knodle had all the deliciousness without the mayo and cheese. I enjoyed the bite of potato salad I had from my friend's dish so much that I made some at home one night and that's gonna be the only way I make/eat potato salad from now on.

I got the Jagerschnitzel and it was perfectly fried. The gravy was so tasty. And the fries! Not sure how or what it was cooked with but they were

Expecting a super fat-laden meal here with sausage & fries...I was literally blown away how it just wasn't that at all. The quality of the wurst and evidently how the fries are prepared definitely is a testament to the kitchen skills here.
The currywurst had a delectable sauce that I found also could not resist dunking fries into. Let's not forget the sauerkraut..which really didn't taste anything like cabbage to me. It had more of a pasta-ish texture and definitely was not anything overly tart or sweet or sour. It really was the best sauerkraut & I just can't recommend

I feel like this restaurant is not your typical German restaurant, which is actually a plus. First of all, it is clean and bright and cheery, and not loaded down with German memorabilia.

Second, the menu is very simple which I loved, with just a few favorite German food dishes, instead of having to spend an hour perusing a multi-page menu.

The server (Owner?) was very friendly, personable and helpful. He went through each of the *wursts for us, describing what each one consisted of. I ended up getting the currywursts, which arrived as four sausage links, topped with curry. I had my choice

So, I am originally from Germany, so I am pretty hard in German Restaurants.

I will comment on the name - German Knödle - yet, they don't have Knödel with their meals - which I was disappointed in, and it's spelled wrong. Knödel is a potato "dumpling", but are light and soft vs American soup dumplings.

Onward to the food - the food...was fantastic. The schnitzle was properly portioned and cooked. Nice crispy exterior with properly cooked meat. The German Potato Salad was the king on the table, outside of the schnitzle. The salad had a nice amount of vinegar that did

The German Knodle is a splendid little place tucked into downtown St. Pete. It's probably a restaurant I've passed a handful of times without ever really noticing it, but it is certainly worthy and pulls its own punch.

It made me so happy how authentic it is- our waiter, who I assume is part owner? was so sweet and genuinely excited to share the menu with us. When we ordered he kept saying how we made such good choices and how much we'd love the food. He wasn't wrong.

I got the currywurst. The curry sauce was absolutely phenomenal- I wish I could've taken home just a

Tasty German staple plates served hot and juicy.
Jager schnitzel was two ample pounded chicken filets deep fried with delicious coating and topped with mushrooms and sauce.
The fries also had a special flavor, not plain.
Washed down with a nice house red.
I understand why so many give 5 stars.
I couldnt finish it all and look forward to tomorrows lunch of leftovers.

Absolutely delicious! The jager schnitzel was delicious and the German chocolate cake was decadent. The perfect ending to a German meal. One jager plate was enough for myself and my daughter. And my husband and our one year old shared his jager. The staff was so kind and we would definitely come back again if in this area!

Wow, what a standout on a block full of eateries. This small little restaurant was one of the few places open late for a vegan snack. I ordered the Curry Vegan Sausage plate which came with 2 Crispy and Juicy Vegan Brats (I'm assuming they use the Beyond brand, but not 100% certain) slathered in a curry gravy which was so delicious. These were served alongside some fresh, crispy fries and a pile of authentic sauerkraut.

The gentleman wasn't shy about saying how good these would be, and graciously took the order and brought the food to the outdoor table. Very pleasant man and very
