It means 'belonging to, ' and 'coming or descending from' - well-expressed definitions for the first solo venture of Chef Jeffrey Jew. Located in the Downtown South University Park area of St. Petersburg, the Nordic and Asian-inspired restaurant will be a mixture of Chef Jew's love of the local area, his heritage and years of culinary experience.
The upscale-casual eatery and bar will be the place where 'to linger' will become a part of the definition as well. Chef Jew is an alumnus of Bravo's "Top Chef, " a winner of Food Network's "Guy's Grocery Games, " and known to locals most recently as Executive Chef at Bella Brava and Stillwaters Tavern of 2B Hospitality.

We tried the Fire, Wood, Metal and Earth cocktails. All of them were good but I didn't find any of them mind blowing. The Fire took a few sips to get acclimated to the campari then you could taste the beet. I only had sips of the other drinks.
We had the;
Bao
Shrimp dumplings
Mapo Ho Fun
Milk bread and rye with sea buckthorn butter and bottarga
Hamachi Crudo with citrus buttermilk
Smoked lions mane with brunost on Sami bread
The Bao and the dumplings were good. Didn't stand out a ton but still good. I didn't get much flavor out of the Bao fillings, I got mostly spiciness out of it. The

The wait was surely worth it! This hidden gem is one of St. Pete's best kept culinary secrets! But I'm here to spill all the tea. We had heard of Lingr's inception several months ago, but we continuously forgot about the new restaurant due to its location. Unless you are driving down 4th Ave S frequently, it's easy to miss. The building is chic, white, modern and unassuming. However behind the tall, slick walls, lies a beautiful, minimalistic culinary heaven. The food itself is inspired by the Norwegian and Asian heritage of Executive Chef Jeffrey Jew. You may not know

My husband and I have lived here a little over 5 years and this has made it to the top of our favorite restaurants in St. Petersburg. My husband had the steak and I had the rice noodles. The majority of the menu is seafood and even though my husband doesn’t touch seafood, they truly make up for it in the other non-seafood entrees. The steak was perfectly made, the curry rice was unreal, and the rice noodles were a bit spicy, but so delicious you had to keep going for more. Not only was the food spectacular and unlike anything we’ve ever had before but the service was impeccable. I had to say

My wife and I just visited this restaurant after accumulating extremely high hopes. The chef / owner is allegedly an iron chef winner, which accredits him to bring the “best of the best”. This food was below average at best. The dumplings were mushy in a sodium packed sauce. The bao bun was soo full of cumin it was hardly edible.
On to the main courses. The wok snapper while the fish was tasty I found 5 bones in my less than 6 oz filet. The “starch” that accompanied was so stale and salty they shouldn’t have even been on the plate. The “starch” ruined the whole dish. It was supposed

I've eaten here twice so far (won't be the last) along with enjoying the chef's food at Frogman Feast, and I think this is one of the most essential restaurants in St. Pete. It combines Cantonese and Norwegian cuisines which represents the chef's lineage. Some dishes lean Cantonese, some lean Norwegian, and some feel like a true marriage. But the menus - dinner and cocktail- are truly unique and unlike anything I've found elsewhere. I think it's Tampa Bay's best new restaurant for 2021

Celebrated a birthday at Lingr and had the most engaging food, drink, and friends experience ever. Every person that works there is knowledgeable about the menu. When the food is delivered it’s not auctioned - they know exactly what plate goes where, + the complexity of their craft cocktails was superb. Their online menu does not display prices but don’t let that detour your decision. The value proposition is there. We had 4 people and our bill was just under $300. We had several shared plates, a couple of cocktails, a bottle of wine and 4 entrées. The ambiance was relaxing and the seating

HIGHLY recommend! One of the best in St. Petersburg. An excellent and artful fusion of Cantonese & Norwegian cuisine. We got the Earth and Wood drinks (both excellent for cocktails. We started with the Sami bread, which I highly recommend. The cheesy richness balanced with the spice of chili oil seamlessly & the mushrooms were perfection. Our starters were the wok-fried red snapper & the mapo noodles, which I can’t rave enough about. We will definitely be visiting again!

We recently celebrated a birthday at Lingr. It was our first visit based on several recommendations. We walked in and immediately loved the vibe. We ordered 3 appetizers - the fabulous dark bread with roe butter, shrimp dumplings and lions mane mushroom. We split the grouper main course and ordered a few specialty drinks. Finished off with dessert. Chocolate cake with crushed pistachios and berries compote. Lastly sparkling wine. Chef Jeffrey stopped by to say hello. All I can say is wow! Atmosphere food service. A+. Can't wait to return

We finally made it to Lingr last night and it was even better than we had heard. Very calm environment perfect for the exquisite food! Our server Taylor was so wonderful and helped guide us through the menu. We started with wine from their large list. The cocktails looked delicious so hope to try next time.
Taylor suggested the potato dumplings and they were so good with a hint of spice. Loved their sauce and they were filling. We also really enjoyed the beautiful presentation of the sliced hamachi which was our favorite dish. The buttermilk and dill oil were incredible.
Next salmon cakes which

Ambiance is exceptional
Service was on point!
Very nice wine list with several good options.
For appetizer we got the snapper crudo which was to die for. I'd go there just for that.
Both me and my friend ordered the same entree, wok fried snapper. It was good but sadly it wasn't memorable as that crudo. But still tasty.

Appetizers were out of this world - some complex and unique dishes. We got the hamachi, the shrimp dumplings, and the sami bread. Fresh catch and steak for mains. Parsnip cake is to die for. Excellent service and great atmosphere- we dined out on the patio area. Highly recommend and will be back again!

Nordic/asian restaurant with fabulous ambiance! Makes a great date spot with stellar service and posh/lounge-y vibes, though pricier than I'd like for food.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- FOOD - Bread starter and dessert (see PICS) were the stars and the Mushroom app was most interesting and unique. More info in pics.
- FENNEL GALORE - Lots of fennel on the menu, which I really dislike but the dumplings had a sprinkle of it and didn't taste it.
- OUTDOOR SPACE - There was a lounge-y outdoor area that was super posh and loved it.
- RESTROOMS - Gotta say, I absolutely loved the bathroom - clean

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. Food, service, ambiance - absolutely TOP NOTCH!
In a nutshell, Lingr will give you an LA experience, but with the St. Pete heart!
On my second visit, I went with a group of girlfriends - we sat outside and enjoyed the large outdoor seating area - which I didn't know was available. Must check out! Thank you Zach and team for making it such a special night!

This is a great date spot. Excellent mood lighting, small and large plates, and excellent drinks.
My only problem with my experience here is that I was here for maybe 35mins. Felt like I was being rushed out the door. I love quick service but it would've been nice to have time to talk to my girlfriend and enjoy the atmosphere a bit.
They do have a nice looking bar but seems like it fills up fast.
I will definitely go back and give this place another shot in the future.

I had been meaning to check this place out. Finally made it out there and without a reservation i was promptly sat. Staff was wearing masks and everything was extremely clean.
Rarely does a place mention sparkling water as being complimentary.
This was a Tuesday at 5:30pm. I was surprised to see there were no happy hour specials considering they're in downtown.
We opted out of the $16 cocktails and ordered various appetizers.
Started with the Hamachi Crudo (this was my favorite) the fish was fresh and the flavors were crisp and light.
Had the smoked Lion's mane. It was an interesting

Amazing place!!! Was looking through new places in DTSP and this came up. Didn't know if we would get in but once were there they didn't have any tables but the bar was open seating. Glad we sat at the bar because we got to talk with Chef Jew as he poured us complimentary champagne!
The bartenders are phenomenal. Mark was mixing up some incredible concoctions. Try one of their 5 spice menu. You will not be disappointed.
Zach covered the wine as well. Their wine list is top notch.
Now for the food, OMG. So good! We started with some shrimp dumplings. Delicious. Perfectly cooked

Lingr was a great experience from start to finish. We didn’t have a reservation, but the owner was able to accommodate us. We ordered quite a few different apps and entrees and each had a unique set of flavors. You definitely have to be in the mood for this type of food because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had. Service was top notch and the atmosphere is on point. Great addition to a particular area of downtown without many dining options.

I've been so anticipating the opening of this restaurant - my first real post-Covid meal - and perhaps that clouds my expectations.
Arrived early to sit at the bar and try their custom cocktails. I would have been happier staying there and completing the entire list of offerings! The drinks were scrumptious - well balanced, nuanced, and stimulating - just outside of anything I've tasted before.
Dinner did not match the creative clarity of the bar.
Appetizers: Snapper crudo was lovely - exotic without being strange and a nice balance of acid. The mushroom medley on bread was unfocused
