I offer compassionate and insight-oriented therapy and counseling to individuals, couples, and children at my office in Oakland. My primary goal is to fully understand each client on a personal, intellectual, and emotional level before I attempt to intervene. I believe in a warm and caring therapeutic relationship, creating a safe space in which to explore your needs and troubles.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, which requires active participation from both therapist and client. We will take each step in a pace that feels comfortable to you so that you feel you have control over the process and never feel pushed or pressured into something that does not feel safe. With this in mind, I believe that we can work together to understand your past and re-write your future.

Services
Throughout my career, I have successfully treated a broad spectrum of clients. I have seen adults, children, and couples seeking therapy for a wide range of problems and struggles, such as anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and intimacy issues to mention a few.
The common thread in working with such a diverse clientele is that I firmly believe that the primary curative factor in therapy is the safe and caring environment provided by the therapist.Therapy should never feel shaming or persecutory. It should be a place where people feel that they can be their true self so that exploration of who they are and wish to achieve can be possible.

Being in a relationship can be very fulfilling and lend a lot of support and stability to one's life. It can also be a really difficult thing to navigate and we can, at times, feel like we lose ourselves in the process. Couples commonly struggle with issues such as negotiating degrees of intimacy, agreeing on fundamental goals, communication, and the role of extended family.
Parenting and raising a family is a difficult task in today's society. Many parents have to work full-time in order to make ends meet and have very little energy left at the end of the day. Things like arguing and fighting among family members are normal occurrences in every family but can escalate to unmanageable proportions and leave parents feeling like they have lost control.
I attempt to make my services accessible to a wide range of clients and try to prevent finances from being an obstacle to receiving therapy, which is why I offer affordable therapy. Should you feel that you are not able to afford my full fee, I offer a sliding scale depending on availability and your circumstances.
The best way to reach me is over the phone. I check my messages frequently and will get back to you typically no later than the following business day. I offer a free initial phone consultation to determine what your needs are and if I can help. If it feels right for both of us, we will schedule a session in person so that we can talk and think together about what is troubling you and what you would like to accomplish in therapy.
