At the Patterson Academy of Martial Arts, we're proud to develop students across Austin into well-rounded young adults. Our Kids Martial Arts program is the perfect way for students of all ages and abilities to build confidence, stay active, and meet a great group of new friends. Our Kids Martial Arts program includes a progressive belt system and high-quality instruction in everything from Jun Fan Gung Fu to Muay Thai and even Inosanto Kali!
Our Adult Martial Arts program combines some of the most renowned disciplines from around the world into a cutting-edge system that is great for all experience levels.
Each class is 90 minutes long and will afford you the opportunity to get in fighting shape, master the fundamental movements and techniques that will make you proficient in the functional use of the marital arts and, finally, allow for deep dives into the subject matter of each art and all facets of personal protection.We look forward to training with you and helping you to become the best version of yourself!

Jake is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He pays attention to detail and makes corrections that seem so minor, but make a huge difference in performance once you apply them. An expert, yet approachable and an active listener when it comes to questions or struggles. We are so lucky to have an instructor of Jake's still level.

PAMA is an incredible school and part of an amazing organization. Jake Patterson is a highly knowledgeable professional. His training and passion for the martial arts shows in everything he does. What can i say besides that since i’ve started (day 1 of opening) PAMA has felt like a second home. Even tho i started at 16 in adults class, i was welcomed in without the bat of an eyelash. It was probably the only place i was treated like an adult, and every punch and kick i grew into the adult Guro Jake treated me like. I can’t imagine doing martial arts anywhere else besides PAMA — its a once in a lifetime opportunity that if you get the chance to go, you should without hesitation :)

I can't recommend PAMA enough. If you're looking for real, comprehensive martial arts training anywhere near the Austin area, this it. You won't find anyone better.
I've been friends, training partners, and co-instructors with Guro Jake Patterson since 2008. He is, by far, one of the best and most knowledgeable martial artists I've ever worked with. He's amazing with all of his students, kids through adults, and just an all around great person in general.

Guro Jake is very knowledgeable in both martial arts and fitness. He will help you achieve all your fitness and martial arts goals. PAMA meets all the criteria of price, location, cleanliness, ample parking and a supportive and positive atmosphere. I Highly recommend this place to beginners and advanced martial artists.
