Wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their own unique bodies and tendencies. They also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious, and even make your pet more familiar with our veterinary hospital, making future visits easier on them and you.
We follow your pet through the many phases of their lives. From specialized and preventative care during their younger years to regular wellness checks as they age, we seek to prevent and detect problems before they arise. We know your pet is important to you, that's why we work hard to ensure they are given only the best in care through all the years of their lives.
Vaccines are products designed to trigger protective immune responses and prepare the immune system to fight future infections from disease-causing agents. Vaccines stimulate the immune system's production of antibodies that identify and destroy disease-causing organisms that enter the body. Vaccines provide immunity against one or several diseases that can lessen the severity or prevent certain diseases altogether.
Dental health is a very important part of your pet's overall health, and dental problems can cause, or be caused by, other health problems. Your pet's teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian to check for early signs of a problem and to keep your pet's mouth healthy.
Look for fleas, ticks, and coat abnormalities any time you groom your dog or cat or when you return home from areas that are likely to have higher numbers of these parasites. Consult your veterinarian if your pet excessively scratches, chews, or licks his/her coat, or persistently shakes his/her head or scratches his/her ears.

This place? AMAZING. I'm new to the area and had a fairly urgent Doggo issue needing attention. I called several other local vets which mostly just said they weren't taking on any new pets, or, wouldn't get me in any sooner than a month away despite my making clear it was a time sensitive concern. But Swan Harbor? Not only were incredibly kind, but got me in just a couple hours after I called. They took great care of my pup and will definitely be my new regular vet.

We cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital! Our dog was attacked and needed to be seen for wounds on his ear. Swan Harbor was very understanding saw him immediately even though we were not a current patient. The staff was incredible. It's obvious they love what they do and give the best care for your pet. They take the time to explain every thing and are very calming even though we were high stress. They worked with us to figure out the best treatment plan which was affordable considering the situation. They also called to check on us the next day!
