Temptations Cafe opened in October of 2007. Having been long time residents of Scottsdale, Arizona, we have made our home in the neighborhood since 1982. Quite and unassuming, our restaurant brings the charm and menu items found in your favorite cafes of the past. We are sure that your mother would thank us for treating you so well.
You can usually find one or both of the owners at the cafe working most days and always ready for a good discussion. The counter is filled with regulars stopping by for some of the best coffee in town, or to read the paper with breakfast. Breakfast or lunch, your choice, we do it like Mom did and all with a smile.

It starts with a Toasted English Muffin, Topped with Shaved Ham, Poached Eggs and Smothered with Hollandaise Sauce. Choice of Country Potatoes or Hashbrowns. Pastry Crust filled with Eggs, Milk & Cream and prepared with a Variety of Cheeses, Meats, or Vegtables. Served with Fruit Cup and Muffins.

The Cafe has a lot going for it. A lot of thought has gone into it right down to tennis balls on the chair legs. You wont hear the sounds of chair legs scraping the floor. The decorations are appreciated in that as things are brought and removed customers notice and ask what happened to.? I also heard regulars saying, see you tomorrow.

We enjoy and appreciate the skills and exuberance of the Cafes staff, which consist largely of students and recent graduates from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute.

My husband and I stopped in for the first time since the holidays. It was after noon so he wanted a sandwich but I was still able to get breakfast. We have gone probably 6 times in the past years because they have a cozy covered patio but had only gotten breakfast or salads in the past. Always good and fresh,. The last time we were in the new owner introduced himself and encouraged us to try the burgers and soups. He makes them from scratch and gets his meat from a local butcher.
I went for a breakfast scramble which was good as always and nice portion. At first my husband ordered a Philly Cheesesteak

Not what it use to be! Ignore any posts prior to November 2021 as they have new Owners/Management. My order was phoned in and picked up, so I can't speak to the in-service, but the person on the phone that took my order fumbled through like he wasn't sure how to enter it. If order taking was the only issue, that would have been okay, but when the food got home it didn't make up for anything! My wife ordered the corned beef hash which comes with eggs. The eggs were ordered over hard, but when we got home they were runny as runny could be! I had the mushroom and swiss burger. The burger was served

This used to be a 5 star definite go to but I think it’s been sold or had some other major changes. The staff has been replaced and it’s just not as friendly as it used to be. The food unfortunately has gone from exceptional every time to sub par at best. Heartbreaking that we need to find a new breakfast spot.

Great food selection, that is attractive and very good.
Table seating is limited inside and additionally has counter seating. Please consider it is open limited hours and has peak times.
If you want to sit and chat you could consider dining on their patio? Plenty of parking. On south side of McDowell Rd, close to Hayden Rd.
