We're proud to be a Virginia Quality child care center in Norfolk! By participating in the Virginia Quality rating and improvement program, we've shown our dedication to continually improving the experience we offer children. It also shows that we are more than just a licensed daycare center (regulated by Department of Social Services).
Light Years uses The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. It helps our teachers plan a content-rich program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
All babies will be placed on their back to sleep. It is the recommendations of The American Academy of Pediatrics, SIDS Alliance, and Association of SIDS and Infant Mortality Programs that all infants be placed on the back when sleeping to reduce the risk of crib death also known as SIDS. So for the safety of your baby, we will follow this recommendation.

LYCDC is a great daycare facility. The personnel are professional, caring and loving. The facility is colorful, neat, clean and is equipped with a variety of fun learning activities and equipment. My grandchildren started at LYCDC when they were 4 months old and are now 2 years old. We are so pleased with their growth and development as a result of their experiences at LYCDC. Excellent choice.

I've been in the Early Childhood profession for over 25 years and I've worked in many capacities in the arena. Light years is the cleaness, neatest childcare I've seen in years. The overall work environment is calm, friendly and stress free. What really impress me is the director a n d staff have a genuine love and compassion for the children and families. LIGHT YEARS CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER ROCK!
