Scott McLendon was born into the hardware industry, working at McLendon Hardware since he was eight-years-old. He learned his strong work ethic from his family, and also that customer service always comes first. In January of 1995, Scott McLendon's Hardware opened in Port Orchard, Washington. Starting out with just five employees, it took only a few years before we outgrew the space, moved to a larger facility and added several more team members.
After much success in providing Kitsap County with a local and family-operated alternative for their home improvement needs, the decision was made to open a second location in Belfair, Washington, in March of 2000. Scott McLendon's Hardware has now been in business for almost 20 years-operating in two locations, with over 60,000 combined square feet of retail space, and nearly 70 employees.

One of the worst places to get paint. The paint themselves are awesome but having to stand at the paint stand for 10 minutes and over just to have workers constantly pass by is annoying. I've had to search for any worker and still had to wait bc they have to call in who ever works that area. It would be different if it was a one time thing but it's happened more than 8 times. Honestly would recommend getting a help button installed at that area if that's an area that hardly gets customers

Everybody in the store is always more than willing to help, or just ask about your day. They never complain they're always knowledgeable. And they don't ask me to wear a face diaper! Which is illegal by the way. Thank you for McLendon's I love shopping there. B t w my doggie loves the treats she gets from the cashier.. I hope you know that she looks forward when I say McLendon's! She will not leave me alone until we are at back cashier and it maybe an hour away. Thank you so much

Just ran in to get duplicate keys made, but a very pleasant experience! Leashed pets are welcome, which was great as I didn’t want to leave my dog in the car. Several staff members offered to assist me and… they made the keys quickly and they all work like a charm. I hope to be back soon, I see they have a large selection of storage totes, etc.

Great store, however if you need disabled cart to get around this big store, they DO NOT have them. If you have difficulty walking and need the handicap scooter you need to bring your own. They won't provide one. Been trying to get them to get one for 20 years. I was told many times, they don't want to provide handicap carts for disabled customers,… as its the kids who get in the carts and play with them. The RiteAid store in Belfair is another store that does NOT provide a disabled cart. They always have a sign up that says their handicap cart is being repaired. I know as it was two years
