We were founded in 1986 by five friends in the hardware industry who saw the need for a locally-owned neighborhood hardware store. What started out as a 3000-square-foot hardware "mini-mart" has grown into a 12,000-square-foot specialty hardware powerhouse. This place is the bees knees. The staff are knowledgeable and they stock a massive variety of supplies.
The Stephensons bought the store in 1973 from Stewart Hall and with Leon and then Ralph's help started to build the business by adding onto the building on both sides, sending out Tom's own Ace Hardware paper and calendar, and by remodeling and adding products constantly. The store became known as the friendly neighborhood place to go for ready advice
