Silver Spring Child Care Center is a community of preschoolers, families, and educators who focus on the importance of learning through play. SSCCC provides quality, play-based learning experiences for children of all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Throughout our classrooms, you'll find students exploring, laughing, and creating a community of caring and inclusiveness.

The hallways are lined with preschool masterpieces. The library is filled with fun activities and engaging children's books. And on certain days of the week, you'll discover children singing songs, working on their dance steps, or practicing karate moves. Outside, they can run and climb, play in the sand box, ride bikes, or use their imaginations in the garden.
Services
The Center was established in 1971 as the result of a proposal by a group of citizens, predominantly from Christ Congregational Church in Silver Spring, to provide quality care for children of all social and cultural backgrounds. Many of our staff have been with SSCCC for more than 10 years - a commitment to our Center that is evidence of how important the care and education of young children is to our staff.
Silver Spring Child Care Center is licensed to care for a total of 47 children in five classrooms; one classroom for 2-year olds, one class of older 2s and young 3s, and three mixed-age classrooms that include children ages 3-5 years. Our spaces fill quickly! We generally schedule center tours about once per month and invite prospective parents to contact us for a visit.
Children at SSCCC are served breakfast, lunch, and snack daily. Breakfast and snack is provided by SSCCC and lunch is provided by Jeffrey's Catering. Based in Alexandria, VA, Jeffrey's Catering uses local markets to purchase farm-fresh produce when possible. They bake their own breads and have a registered dietician who ensures that their menus meet or exceed the USDA Child Food Program guidelines.
SSCCC operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Monthly tuition covers basic operating costs like rent, insurance, instructional supplies and materials, and teacher's wages. Covering the costs of new equipment, additional teacher training, upgrading our campus, or investing in new shiny things is a challenge and every dollar counts.

Terrific child care, our son loves it! Warm, nurturing, and structured environment for kids to grow and learn. Can't say enough good things about his teacher or his experience in general.
