1st United Credit Union

OMG! We have an account at 1st USCU in the name and ID number of an irrevocable trust. After about 10 years of correctly reporting the interest, the 2020 Form 1099-INT was incorrectly reported to the trustee's ID. After MANY emails and phone calls we finally received a corrected 1099. Just received the 1099 for 2021 - WRONG AGAIN!

We have a second account opened in the name of our Living Trust. Again, after several years, 1st USCU changed it to a joint account. Yikes, I don't know what is going on but I DO NOT RECOMMEND this credit union.

The bank reached out to me to clarify the situation. They are actually unable to clear a large cashier's check on the same day, although ten days does seem excessive. Other banks may have other processes in place for immediate clearing of checks, but I understand that check holds are a financial safety precaution. Moving forward, wire-transfer is the way to go --- in-person with a paper check, not so much.

Friendly people and great service! I sign up for a 3 different accounts within 45 minutes. They even showed me how to use the banking app!

I really appreciate the assistance I got from Chenoa today. Someone had hacked into my checking account and she took care of everything in short order. I came here to open a business account but the city of Oakland has some challenges with paperwork. Chenoa tried every possible search option to find the license in the database - the license that was right in front of her, from the city of Oakland, that came from the database she was searching in. I ended up realizing that a full fledged business account wasn't necessary.
Chenoa gave me top notch customer service that included information, compassion and helpful suggestions.
I am very glad to have found 1st United Credit Union!

Chenoa is AMAZING...She is not merely a bank teller she is an financial/credit expert. She is informative, patient and kind. Chenoa assisted me in purchasing a car, restoring my credit score (710 and growing) and being very diligent regarding my spending. She is positioning my financial portfolio to grow and become very healthy and diversified!!!

This CU is a partner with my financial institution, Golden 1. I use the ATM for most of my banking needs.

Except, they would not sell me a roll of quarters. I needed open an account.

The ATM essentially ate my money without crediting my account. I am eight days in and still have not recieved my money. What if I needed to pay rent? Eat? Horrible experience.

I love credit unions but this branch or bank is hard to love. First, they make it literally impossible to get in the door with an impossible security door system. Second, the staff are either poorly trained or or their systems just plain stink because doing anything takes three to four times as long as any other bank or credit union I've been to. The only good thing is that there are never any lines here - although it's mitigated by the slowness of the tellers.

Chenoa, is totally my favorite person at this establishment. She has been so very helpful in assisting me through a fraud issue that got me all my money back. She maintained her professionalism, skills, knowledge and all around kindness. I felt I was in the very best hands through this situation that was resolved quickly. Thank you, Chenoa!!!

I appreciate this Credit union; I have a low interest Auto loan, and Credit card. Also, a savings and checking account. My one challenge with 1st United is they do not offer Business accounts. I prefer to do all of my banking in one place. I understand they used to offer this service, and are considering doing so again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I always wanted to belong to a credit union, and I was not disappointed by their service. They helped my partner and I get a car loan. I thought the process was going to be very stressful, but with 1st United the process was very fast and stress free. I look forward to do all my business with them.

Every freaking time I come here the ATM's are broken. I'm so sick of this place. I'm leaving this bank. They have like 5 locations all spread apart, no working ATM's at any of their locations. EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND ITS BROKEN!! I can't even rely on these people who don't know how to run a bank with a ATM. I need to leave this stupid bank.

I love coming to this location because of the short line and great parking. It's also very close to other places, one stop shop for food and than right to the credit union. The limit for my debit card $1500! That's amazing! Staff is also very friendly and outgoing!
