Urban Hardwoods
Since our founding in 2001, our mission at Urban Hardwoods has been to create exquisite furniture, built by hand from locally salvaged wood. We source our extraordinary material from urban trees that are storm damaged, dead, dying or hazardous. We work closely with local arborists to ensure that these remarkable trees don't go to waste, salvaging 90 percent of our material from within 20 miles of Seattle.

The Pacific Northwest is an ideal climate for hardwood trees, some of which are native only to this region. Our salvaged wood slabs reveal the beauty of these trees, offering an elevated and sustainable alternative to conventionally sourced wood. Urban Hardwoods furniture is handcrafted in Seattle, WA using locally salvaged wood sourced from our Pacific Northwest neighborhoods.
Services
At Urban Hardwoods, the salvage, milling, drying, design, and fabrication is all done one tree, one log, and one table at a time. Our highly skilled artisans keep the entire process in-house to ensure quality at every step. When you buy from Urban Hardwoods you're buying furniture that's solid, sustainably sourced, and has a story to tell.
UH Residential represents our company roots of more than 20 years building luxury residential furniture from exquisite salvaged wood. These one-of-a-kind pieces are designed to celebrate the authentic beauty in our natural materials transforming your residential spaces with the refined aesthetic, expert craftsmanship, and attention to detail that is second to none.
Our commitment to exceptional service means delivering on budget, on schedule, and building to precise specifications. From large contract projects to a single, extraordinary conference table - we'll meet your design objectives and exceed your client's expectations, together. For more than 20 years Urban Hardwoods has worked closely with designers, owners, and dealers on commercial workspaces and hospitality projects of all sizes.
The upkeep of your reclaimed product simply requires a damp cloth to remove spills or debris, quickly followed by a dry cloth to remove all residual moisture on the surface. Refinishing of the surface is not necessary. We recommend the use of a natural polish with citrus oil and bee's wax as needed or annually to maintain luster.

Their work is amazing I have invested in many pieces. Dining table and bench seat, coffee table, end tables, desk and book shelf. All are beautiful and the wood is really spectacular

Extremely bad customer service!!

They didn't keep their words at all!!! Via emails and in person, they confirmed they could do how I wanted but few days later, they told me they can't and referred similar but different company as CC on them!

I have never allowed them to share my personal contact information (such as email and phone # and all) but they did WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!

That's rude and won't come back to this store.
They don't keep their words AND spreading your contact information to strangers!

Stunningly beautiful, well made, live edge tables. All of the different kinds of wood & the craftsmanship is nice to see. I wish I had a big open space to put one of these lovely tables. As I'm admiring one of the huge tables, the salesman tells me that they often cut them to size if needed. I explain that we're just visiting but I had seen their ads in Dwell. Sigh...next house or next re-model.

Beautiful wooden furniture that'll blow your mind. If you're a modernist at heart, you'll want to own a piece from this store.

Given it's still a chain, it sure doesn't feel like one. Everyone's extra friendly and you really get that home buying experience that you need in order to justify some of the prices (although it's actually not too exorbitant compared to other modern furniture shops).

Stop on by, I'm sure you'll walk out with a gleaming smile and new appreciation for modern design!

We went to buy an entry table -- couldn't decide on all the amazing woods, so the owner let us "borrow" a piece to bring home and try out. We ended up buying that table, plus another. Nice people, beautiful and unique products. Beautiful new stores on 1st Avenue, downtown. Better than anything from Crate and Barrel.

I absolutely love this place! I even love that they are located in the Michigan street area. If you know anything about anything, then you know this really is the best area for finding unique things. The storefront is located at the warehouse that they store the wood and build the furniture. The juxtaposition of the industrial building and the natural beauty of the wood really makes the furniture pop. You may think all of the pieces look good in the photos, but you have no idea just how spectacular they are in person and how large. You really don't get the scale of the furniture until

I actually came across their product in SF when I was on a business trip. Beautiful organic designs but with a pretty steep price tag if you ask me. A small side table is about $1000+ to start. But then again these are one of a kind pieces so perhaps the price is justified. Go Green!
