Nick's Hardwood installed new floors in our home in the fall of 2011. From getting the Estimate to having the finished product was a very smooth process. We went out of town during the installation process, which I highly recommend, and when we returned home we found our beautiful new wood floors and our furniture moved back into the house.

I had a very difficult job that tested the limits of my own carpentry skills. I had to pull up the stair treads as well as the risers, which were all cut at 90 degrees, when some needed to be scribed to fit the true angle. Thus, there were gaps between the stairs and the skirts. Compounding the problem was that when the skirt boards were put in, the previous contractor used MDF instead of Windsor-One like I had asked to match the original thicknesses in my 1906 Seattle box house. MDF is 1/16 inch thinner than the 3/4 inch Windsor. I felt it was risky for me to try. I contacted and met several
