Services
Located near the heart of Detroit, City Recycling is a full-service scrap metal recycler and processor that has served Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan since 1992. With a reputation for efficiency, high-quality customer service and safety, we buy and recycle all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, including steel, iron, brass, aluminum, copper, stainless steel and more.
City Recycling buys thousands of tons of scrap metals each year for processing and recycling. Provide roll-off containers for demolition or deconstruction that we'll drop off and pick up. Purchase, process and recycle all ferrous materials, such as old iron pipes, appliances, fencing, filing cabinets, scrap vehicles and more.
We are an association of scrap metal recyclers, equipment suppliers, service providers and recycle industry affinities that strive to strengthen the recycling industry through advocacy and education. Formed more than two years ago as the Association of Environmentally Responsible Recyclers of Michigan, our Association initially focused on issues related to torch cutting.
I've been doing business with City Recycling for more than two years now. We switched to City Recycling because we weren't happy with our previous recycler, and Mark and his crew offered competitive pricing. They also go above and beyond to help us out. When our trucks our down, they're always ready to send their trucks to get our scrap out of the way.
We buy all types of ferrous (containing iron) and non-ferrous metal material that you may have gathering dust in your home or garage - such as old appliances like stoves and refrigerators (without the compressor and with all the coolant drained), old fencing, metal desks and filing cabinets, aluminum siding, lead pipes and even out-of-service vehicles.

From the looks of it you wouldn't think this small operation would operate very efficiently, professionally and quickly; and yet they do just that. The small crew of employees work together to accomplish their daily tasks and help the people dropping off metals and scraps. The place although dirty is actually organized and (bonus) theres a little cat that has always welcomed me as I drive to the scale. As far as pricing, they are very accurate and accommodating
