Started from humble beginnings, a hard working immigrant family, with a passion for food and community, wanted to bring an authentic Italian experience to the heart of Washington D.C. Flavio DC was born and has been achieving this for many years through its interior decor, Italian-style service, and pasta-pizza-wine culture.
Merging modern fine-dining with classic Italian cuisine and stone baked pizza artistry, you truly feel like you are somewhere in Italy. We are located at the corner of 31st and M street NW D.C., this venue has become a well known travel destination for tourists and feels like an Italian trip for local residents.

I came here with friends for DC's Winter Restaurant Week and was pretty disappointed. I read online that they had gluten free options, but the waiter looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked about the gluten free pasta. I got the salmon entree for dinner as this was the only thing on the menu that I could eat and didn't even want to finish it. There were 3 total pieces of asparagus on my plate, and the only flavor my salmon had was from the lemon juice that I squeezed onto it. They were out of cannolis which was very disappointing, and the tiramisu tasted like it had just been taken

In a word: cold. The building was FREEZING! Everyone was wearing their coats inside, including the hostess. We were sat right next to another couple when there we're no less than 10 open tables away from others. Then the waiter stopped by their table 3 times without saying a word to us. We got up and left and went to the Italian restaurant across the street.
If you're thinking of making reservations here, I'd suggest you do what we did and go across the street.

I absolutely love this restaurant. It has a really nice ambiance and the food is delicious. I usually get the Lobster Diavolo and it’s so delicious if you love seafood and a little bit of spice you will love this dish. I had the honor of meeting Gamy and he is an upstanding server, very respectful and made sure I was taken care of. As far as Covid-19 requirements you do need proof of a vaccination card to dine in and a mask of course. Happy dining !!!

Arrived at 7 for dinner and were seated at a half filled restaurant. Ordered an Aperol spritz and a Espresso Martini and the burrata appetizer. Once the burrata came out w/ what appeared to be olive salsa (tapenade) I knew I was in for a rough night lol....
Burrata is generally served w/ tomatoes, balsamic & olive oil to cut the fat of the heavy cheese. So it was a bit overwhelming to eat this with greasy olives...
For appetizers, we ordered the Pomodoro w/ meatballs, and the Lobster Diavolo. We also ordered the penne Arabita to go w/ meatballs. The pomodoro was OK... the meatballs were OK

We came to Flavio during a vacation in DC, and the restaurant is GORGEOUS - we loved the indoor/outdoor aspect and the exposed brick wall in Georgetown. The vibes are spot on. The food, sadly, was a little "eh". Don't get me wrong, the oil and pita was delish, the bruschetta was pretty good, but the pasta dishes (Alfredo, penne arrabiata) and pizza we ordered came out in about four minutes which led us to believe that it wasn't that fresh. The servings were huge, which was nice but we left our leftovers at the restaurant because we didn't want to bring them home. The service

I've come to Flavio a couple of times, and am never disappointed. Tonight was the first time I tried the Lobster Diavolo and it was nothing less than amazing. The sauce had just a dash of cream, not too heavy, and an abundance of seafood including scallops, lobster, and mussels.
Our server was Reda and he was just great. Very attentive, helpful with recommendations, and on top of the service without being overbearing.
This place is great; highly recommended!

Came here at a recommendation of a friend who knew it as its previous restaurant Paper Moon, but I have a wonderful experience at Flavio! We sat outside on a slightly chilly fall evening and the heaters were plenty to keep us all warm. The interior decor of the restaurant is gorgeous, and the service was outstanding. Anthony was super attentive and very fun to talk to! We shared the margherita pizza (very good, although a bit heavy on the cheese), the formaggi antipasti (super simple but also delicious), and then split dessert (also fantastic). Definitely a place worth checking out if you&apos

This place is superb. The gnocchi is house made and very much a dumpling in size (very filling). Texturally fantastic. Ricotta cream sauce very good but mixes even better with spicy tomato sauce from the penne Arabiata. Great atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor dining. Tiramasu delicious as well. Our server Mo was amazing, prompt with everything whether be drinks, refills, order, check, etc. Will be back in future trips to the area!

We were happy to book this place within 5 min notice, when all the restaurants on the Main Street of Cady’s Alley were booked and had 30-40 min waiting lists. Food was good with delicious Italian sauce both tomato and Alfredo. Portions are huge for our family and enough to share although considered by the restaurant as normal. Restaurant has both inside and outside areas. Inside is quite big, has a bar. What I really missed was coffee (was out of order that day, hope fixed), bottled coke and restroom could be cleaner.

Came back here for a large group dinner and loved it again! Service was good, it was easy to get a reservation or 10+ people, and the food was phenomenal again. We had a couple bottles of wine--both red and white, and all good--charcuterie, cheese plates, and entrees. Everyone was full and satisfied with their meal, and we had a lot of fun hanging out for a few hours!

Unfortunately, not that great of an italian restaurant in the DC area. the appetizer cheese board was really great, far better than the main dish. the pasta sauce in the main dish was quite bland, not very flavorful. the portion was pretty large though. the service was pretty slow but that’s to be expected on a busy night. we had a reservation but had to wait an additional 20 minutes before being seated. overall, it was okay.

Grabbed dinner from here and it was delicious. We ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and gnocchi with chicken. We also got the goat cheese bruschetta. Both pasta sauces were so creamy and rich. Just heavenly. I love just about anything with goat cheese so naturally I found the bruschetta yummy. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some great pasta.

Flavio didn't get off to a hot start with the complimentary bread that they brought out. It didn't look too burned, but it sure tasted burned. However, for my main dish I got the Salsiccia pizza, which had pepperoni and sausage on it. I would've appreciated a bit more sausage, but it was a solid pizza- nothing special, but the portion size was very large (a full pizza), which justifies the $18 price tag.
We sat in a nice outdoor seating area by the sidewalk, which was covered and aesthetic (colorful decor with fake grass on the ground and fake flowers hanging above us). There were

I love this place! I love going out and watching people treat wait staff. And then I love how my wait staff is with me.
It's such a tough space in the restaurant business and you'd think more people would be kind.
Valentines Day was hectic but they were accommodating and quick with service.
I know better than to ask for anything special or out of the norm on these kind of days.
Loved that they had a full menu!

Visited this restaurant in the evening and noticed they had bubbles you could eat in outside. The idea of it is super cute, but the location isn't the nicest. There were big road closure signs and it just made the area look unappealing. Also, it was super cold out and they didn't have heaters inside the bubbles so we opted to dine inside.
Staff wore masks and guests were spaced out. Although there weren't many people in the restaurant, there was still a very long wait to receive drinks and food. It seemed like there was only one waiter working.

My first time here and we came on a double date. I loves the atmosphere and the open air environment. Our experience was unique and fun!
Upon arrival my friend, Amber, went to the ladies room and on her way back noticed a couple trying to get the perfect photo. Of course she offered to take it for them. A few minutes later the couple comes over with a complementary bottle of champagne. Turns out the guy was the owner/manager of the place.
This started our night off perfect! The food was great as well! We will definitely be back for more!
