What is a HMO? A Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) is a type of managed care health plan where members choose their physician from a list of approved health care providers which typically results in lower premiums and/or copayments. Generally, members of an HMO can only see a health care specialist (podiatrist) if they get a referral from their primary care physician, also known as a gatekeeper.
Medicare Part B may cover podiatry. Visits to a foot doctor (podiatrist) may be covered, but not for routine foot care. Does Medicare cover podiatry for diabetics? Medicare Part B may cover a foot exam every 10 weeks if you are currently taking medication prescribed by your primary physicain after a diagnosis of diabetes has been determined.
What is a PPO? A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) is a managed care health plan that gives its members multiple choices in health care and health care providers. You or your employer pays a monthly or quarterly premium for coverage of a broad range of medical services. Like an HMO, a PPO may charge a copayment for each office visit and there is usually no paperwork to complete.

I have gone to Dr Aaronson for years..., on and off as needed. He is quite personable and is enjoyable to converse with. Though it had been many years since I had seen him last, he remembered me. The office staff is cheery and caring. This past visit I was a mess emotionally, and they put me to ease right away. I don't like going to drs, but this dr and his staff make it less stressful for me, and that is saying a lot. If you have foot issues, this is definitely the people you need to see.

Dr. Arronson has been my doctor for several years and done several surgeries on my feet, most recently my second bunion surgery. I'm healing very well and have always felt cared for and treated well. The staff is friendly and caring. I always know I can trust him.
