Bellwether

Thank you Sarah-Michael K for your yelp review!! Her advice was key to trying out the restaurant. As she informed, the leek potato soup was dreamy. Every drop! The poutine was fantastic too. We went heavy on the beef; 2 double burgers, steak frites and short rib. None disappointed! My daughter had the steak frites, which she liked, but she tasted the Sheep Burger and exclaimed "I'm coming back for that!"

One area of opportunity- dessert. We had the Rangoon and the macaroon; they were just ok. But as good as everything else was, bellwether needs to step it up to match the rest of

Great place, very modern interior. Sparkling clean. Good food. New Big menu. Amazing service. Great bar place. Parking is outside not free, street parking requires coin or card. Look for the sheep logo.

My husband and I had a "date night" dinner at Bellwether on Saturday, December 11, 2021. We had a reservation for 5:30 p.m. -- we were able to find a parking space right in front of the restaurant! We checked in at the host stand and we were taken right to our table. We were immediately greeted by our server, Megan. She took our drink orders and returned with them quickly. We enjoyed our drinks for a few minutes and then ordered the Pimento Cheese Plate. It was delicious! We then ordered our dinners: my husband ordered the Hangar Steak Frites and I ordered the Duck Confit Truffled

Bellwether was a quick stop for us on our way to see a show at TU Center on a Thursday night, where we received excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed the two appetizers and drinks we had. We were struggling to find a second shareable that didn't have one thing that concerned me about my boyfriend eating it, and the server recommended the fried broccoli and it was sooooo good. We also really loved the poutine with the perfect mix of everything.

Quite literally some of the best plates I've had all year. The short rib and grit combination was genius! My friend got the chicken sandwich. I never had a chicken sandwich melt in my mouth!!! Everything was literally perfect I don't know what else to say except go try it!

This was my first experience at Bellwether. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is polite and helpful. I ordered food to go instead of dine-in. I had the Korean fried chicken and their Mac&cheese. The menu described the Korean Fried Chicken to be spicy and it wasn't at all, not even that flavorful. The ingredients were definitely fresh though. The Mac&cheese was really disappointing, reminded me of velveeta.
Overall the food was pretty bland and unexciting, especially for the price. We got 3 meals in total and it ended up to be around $75.

There's honestly other places

Giving this place five stars is a no brainer, and I have so many things to say about this place so bare with me while I tell the story of my experience.

While you could visually tell they were understaffed the night I was here a couple weeks ago, we never felt the effects of it. Whoever walked by that saw we had a dish that needed to be cleared, they cleared it. Our food was delivered by different people, and even the manager was helping out. There was a very good flow to the service that I feel like was timed really well and that definitely added to my positive experience.

Food was absolutely amazing. The best part was definitely the dessert.

Not terrible, not great. The poutine is excellent. The portions are small for the price and not terribly worth it. Good atmosphere, fairly priced drinks. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but it's not bad.

Lame Drinks. Too trendy & pricey for my taste. More of a Millennial place, if you will.

Even though they have spotty hours and keep removing my favorite items from the menu , I really enjoy the food and drink quality at Bellwether. Still one of my favorite restaurants is JAX.

Both first-timers, my friend and I decided on Bellwether as a lunch-before-the-show meal. We had taken a peek at the menu beforehand and, with the prices being higher than average, I had expected a little bit more formal dining. Tables that were being serviced were full, so we were able to just order from the take-out counter and seat ourselves. Our tables were cleared and refills were offered though. I ordered a Medianoche (which was $14), truffle fries (an additional $4), and a fountain drink ($2-3) + tip, which added up to a pretty expensive lunch. I usually don't mind paying that much

We enjoyed EVERY aspect of our meal. The flavors were unique and flavorful with every menu item we ordered from apps thru dessert. The cocktails were well balanced and enjoyed. The atmosphere was perfect. Katie, our server, was simply a delight. She was attentive, and made great recommendations. She gave us perfect service! We look forward to the next time visiting. I will dream of the food til then!

Bellwether delivers a great evening each visit. Last night they helped us celebrate our daughter’s birthday Even with last minute notice they made it special. The food is innovative and fresh and beautifully presented. I would like to patronize Bellwether weekly!

Love love love Bellwether. I eat lunch here often, but got to have dinner here for the first time on Saturday. Our group of ten was accommodated with a one day notice and we're treated incredibly. Food was decadent. Everyone cannot wait to return.

I've made several visits here and they have yet to fail. The establishment is clean! Staff is attentive and sweet! The food is good!! Great place for a business lunch meeting.

Stopped in for an after dinner drink and a treat, although my husband had to try the Korean fried broccoli which was delish!! The choco taco which was a grownup rendition of a childhood favorite. The drink of the week was described as a peach infused Prosecco, I didn't get much flavor at all out of it which was disappointing because it looked beautiful (also my bartender did disclose he was helping from Orsay and didn't know the drinks or menu well so perhaps I need to give it another shot). I did really appreciate his honesty and willingness to help out a fellow restaurant. Will be back

I love this place. We ended up eating two meals here, we liked it that much. Not only is the food good but I’m pretty sure I’ve never had service like this before. Storm was our server the first night and Dave the second night. Incredible, personable and just damn friendly. I wish I could eat here all the time!! You guys are killing it in every aspect Bellwether. Glad we found this place.

If I could eat here twice everyday I probably would! Today I had the Poutine and bell wether burger, single. The Poutine tho... omg I've never had fries so good, so many flavors, soo cheesy and salty like I like it!! The burger is on point once again!


Clean environment and friendly staff!

Me and my girlfriend stopped by on 10/02/2020 around 8:20p.m. The host was kind when we 1st arrived and not long after we arrived two waitresses greeted us. Both were exceptionally professional and executed our order correctly. It didn't take long for our order to come out, our food was hot, delicious beyond our expectations, and the food wasn't overpriced. We ordered the Fried Korean Broccoli, Beet Burger, House Soup, and boiled peanuts with a glass of wine. We will be returning.

I love how close this location is to my office. It's within walking distance from the Novel building. I have held private events. I loved the 3 course meal that was served as well as the service! It was easy to make reservations for the mastermind group I have put together and selecting the menu. This is hidden gem for those who do not go down town often. It's also usually very busy/packed during lunch.

The menu at Bellwether looked great and the reviews were really good. So when this place was suggested for dinner, I was all in.

We arrived around 6:30 on a weeknight without reservations and the dining room was quite full. After a brief wait, we were seated in the back dining room next to the kitchen.

We started with the korean fried broccoli and house soup which had carrot, ginger, coconut milk and cilantro oil. While the broccoli came highly recommended by our waitress, it was very thick and the flavor got monotonous after a couple of spoonfuls. The broccoli didn't fare much better as

I don't get to downtown as much as I'd like, but we're heading to the Cirque du Soleil: Axel show so I took the opportunity to finally check out @bellwetherjax for the very first time. It did not disappoint.

Crispy skin salmon with Job's tears, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, and radish. Perfectly cooked salmon with a gorgeous skin that contrasted nicely with it's flakey flesh. Job's tears are new for me. They kind of look like black-eyed peas

We were attending a show and wanted a restaurant close to Veterans Arena, and Bellwether came up in my Yelp searches.

We walked up and the interior of the restaurant was comfortable and industrial/farmy. We didn't make reservations, so we sat at a table at the bar.

After looking over their menu, they had a good happy hour special. Blair our server was fantastic. He went over the menu and happy hour specials, as well as the bar menu.

I ordered my standard lemon drop martini to start and we ordered a poutine for the table to share. The lemon drop was off the chain delicious. Sweet and tart

Now this is my go to spot when in Jacksonville. I stopped in this place because the burgers looked sooo beautiful in the photos on yelp‼ I must say the photos were proven correct. This was double patty cheeseburger deliciousness . It's one of the most flavorful & juicy double cheeseburgers I've had. I also enjoyed the good drinks from the bar. You can't go wrong with a burger from this place

I really liked the atmosphere...and the AC! We were seated in the bar area and it was bright and open. I really liked the wood choices against the stark white. Very modern and clean while still being inviting.
We just got apps and a couple of beers. I really enjoyed my pimiento cheese but not the crackers it came with (I ate the hell out of them, though). The cheese was topped with boiled hot peanuts but not enough, so I ended up ordering more nuts. I'm so glad I did. They were really the highlight for me!

We were in Jacksonville for a show at the arena and this seemed to be the best restaurant that was close enough to be convenient and it ended up being a great choice! With a clean and modern looking interior, Bellwether serves up southern inspired American cuisine that is tasty with great service. The pimento cheese plate was insanely good with addictive crackers, the chicken and the chicken salad were also both great as well for our mains. Service was as close to perfect as you can get! Really almost no negatives to our experience and we would go back in a heartbeat if we found ourselves in Jacksonville

Mary was amazing from the time I stepped in until I left. She paid attention to all the details and made she I was taken care of with a smile the entire time. Not only that but the food was GREAT! I had the vegan curry and it was delicious and well put together on the plate as well. I'd recommend you check it out for yourself if you are in the area. Oh the atmosphere is so calming and relaxed.
