It all began in 1952, when Marie started making slipcovers, draperies, and bedspreads from home, for relatives. Then, in 1956, her husband Don decided it was time to join her and open a custom drapery workroom. In 1957, Don & Marie opened a small shop in Belleville with 2 employees. Over the next decade, they had to keep moving into larger quarters to accommodate the increased workload.
In 1973, they purchased the current location at 145 Heckel Street in Belleville, NJ. Today, Don's Drapery Manufacturing operates one of the largest and most modernly equipped drapery workrooms in New Jersey. Custom drapes are our "claim to fame". As a family owned and operated drapery workroom with over 60 years of experience, we are committed to the highest standards of manufacturing. Draperies are an elegant and timeless choice for window treatments that complete a room. They are available in a wide variety of styles: pinch pleat, modern tack high pleat, ripplefold, grommet, goblet, rod pocket, flat shirred, tab and several more.
Our custom roman shades are handcrafted, one at a time, with a unique "savoir-faire". They are available in a wide variety of styles including flat, unconstructed and soft-pleated roman shades. We have a variety of mechanisms, including cordless and motorized. Our custom roman shades can be made with trim, and can be fabricated as two three shades on one headrail and bottom-up/top-down.
Throw pillows ideas are sure to spark your imagination to create the perfect look for bedroom or living room designs. Go bold. Mix & match patterns. Pick unique Textures. Use different sizes & shapes. Mix neutral colors with an accent color. Our drapery workroom does all custom sizes of pillows, with different types of insert options.
We are a full service drapery workroom. In case you need professional measurements and installation of custom window treatments done in the New Jersey and New York area, we will be at your service. Our installers are among the most experienced in the tri-state area, with over 100 years of combined experience in installing custom drapes.
As a full service drapery workroom, we provide cleaning of your custom drapes. We clean all types of window treatments, including horizontal and vertical blinds, shades and cornices. Our team will take off your treatments, clean and reinstall them. We can store your custom window treatments while work is being done at your location, residential or commercial.

Fantastic workroom where the owners and management have countless years experience and who really know their stuff.
